Interesting
The first of the Witcher books that covers him meeting Yennefer.

I expected to be wooed by this book as the series was really great and I had heard great things about the book too. Until the final two chapters I was quite underwhelmed, the book is similar to several short stories and these were not in order. I found this a little frustrating.

Geralt seemed to lack a personal connection and I was finding it hard to enjoy this book. Fortunately, the last two chapters are brilliant, I devoured them very quickly and cant wait to read the next one. I really hope the following installments have a longer story but I don't know if that will be the case. Either way I will probably finish the full series as I niw feel invested in the characters.

Hmmm

Okay, so I've literally just finished this and I'm crying those silent-but-painful tears because your emotions have just gone through the wringer. That last 10% or so was rough.

But from a way before that--somewhere before the 40% mark--i got bored, lost all interest in this completely. I normally love my escort/sexworker stories. Yeah, I know I'm strange, but I do tend to really like those kind of stories. But with this... I don't know if it was their past together or it just bored me but I struggled for a long time.

I must have felt something for the characters though or I wouldn't, even now, be crying over that unhappy ending to this part of their story. I'm also not sure if I want to read the next part. Will think about it in my dreams.

So this was my first ever comic on kindle and I have to admit it's completely different to normal. I used to really like reading my Mills & Boon/Silhouette/Harlequin books when I was younger so the chance to read them with pictures? I thought I'd give it a try and I think I enjoyed it more than I would have done just the stories. The skill of the artists to show the emotions of the characters is amazing.

The only thing I didn't like so much was how I was just really getting into the stories and they'd end and the preview for the next book would start. There were admittedly a few that I wouldn't have minded reading the full length versions of but the prices have put me off for a bit. Maybe at Christmas when I get my Amazon Gift Card :D
