Odd, dreamy follow-up to Cat People; not really a sequel in the conventional sense at all, barely qualifies as a horror movie, either. Picks up the story a few years later; the couple from the original film are now married with a child, who has a problematically rich fantasy life. Given a 'wishing ring' by a lonely old woman, she wishes for a friend - and what appears to be the ghost of her father's first wife (Irena the Cat Woman) materialises...

Much, much gentler than it might sound; there's virtually no reference to Irena's supposedly cursed blood (she turns into a cat in moments of passion), the 'curse' mentioned in the title is the shadow her death still casts over the family. But here Irena seems entirely benign and the story is about the relationship between parents and a child struggling to fit in. Nicely made and performed, but very hard to categorise.

In this animated 4th instalment of the original franchise, the Turltles are semi retired, with Leonardo training in the deep Jungles, Michelangelo ironically dressing as a turtle for kids party's, donatello working as I.T support, Raphael having a secret Night life and April o'neil now working for a mysteriously rich relic collector, the four brothers aren't as close as they once were. until one night OG badass Casey Jones teams up with the mysterious vigilante nightwatcher, they discover ancient monsters terrorizing the city and the return of the foot clan.

This movie has a great coming of age story, wonderful cgi animation and a well balanced tone. This is one for all old school Half Shell fans.

I enjoyed this one... The characters were interesting... they were totally not likely for each other... at first I thought it was because patrick was an nfl star and Max was a student... and then they fall for each other of sorts... and then they lose each other.. a lot happens and then max is rich and patrick isn't.. they have to go through so much with each other.. and then they have to go through so much with themselves.. they have to fight to be who they are meant to be.. plus find out who they are to each other. it is truly a sweet and lovely story and I enjoyed it a lot.

This book completely caught me by surprise. I couldn't put it down... it tells the tale of Laurel, a young woman who was attacked while in college -- an attack that left quite an impression on her. Currently Laurel works for a homeless shelter. When one of her residents dies, her boss gives Laurel (an amateur photographer herself) a box of his photographs. Convinced he was somehow tied to a rich family, quite infamous in Laurel's hometown, she goes on a quest to learn everything she can about the man and his family. The book adds an extra layer as it weaves much The Great Gatsby lore into its own story.
