A predictable premise, unoriginal storytelling with a predictable ending. Wish we'd gotten more of a back story on Spencer's daughter. They could have really made up a twisted storyline with her. (0 more)

Brilliantly sad
Wow, what a movie. Very disturbing but very moving and showing just how the Jews suffered at the hands of Nazi Germany. Polanski's storytelling is sublime as always and the film though a tough watch sometimes is one that will live you for a long time

Wonderful book
Nothing I can say could possibly do this book justice. I highly recommend everyone (adult) who can stomach hard topics to read this book. Be warned kidnapping, murder, rape, are main themes.

There are moments that are beautiful in terms of the cinematography and the storytelling, but the glorification of every element of Van Gogh's life creates a problematic interpretation of a man who suffered from mental illness.
