"Cabaret is the classic work [from director Bob Fosse], but Star 80 I think is really worth visiting, because it wasn’t a successful film and it really dealt with a kind of heinous crime. The film itself is brilliantly made, in terms of rhythm and storytelling; if you look at it you’ll see that a lot of directors of my era have been influenced by the aesthetic. Bob Fosse’s great ability with rhythmic storytelling is very alive in the movie, and what’s so intriguing is that it takes a true chapter in the history of Hugh Hefner and the world of Playboy and tells it as a kind of psychological thriller — but with a whole lot of Fosse-like theatricality. So I think that’s a kind of little off-the-radar gem."

To The Moon
To The Moon
2011 | Role-Playing
To the Moon's excellent storytelling never veers off course and is one of the best we've experienced this year. While the game may not offer much in terms of a challenge, or even gameplay, it does offer a rich and thought-provoking narrative

Simple straightforward fable
An easy read, contrary to many of Dostoyevsky's novels. The honest thief raises the question of whether it is fine to forgive or accept a lie in some circumstances especially when there are more important things to be worrying about.

Dostoyevsky's short stories are always a joy to read and listen because of the power of his storytelling.

Almost amazing
The end of the Unbreakable trilogy was almost amazing, though left a lot of new questions unanswered. The story was decent, and the telling was mostly ideal. There were some timing issues which pulled the audience out of suspended disbelief.

A great film for Tsui Hark fans
Inspired by the book "Tracks in Snowy Forest" and later adapted in an opera "The Taking of Tiger Mountain by Strategy" the film shows an epic battle between the People's Liberation Army and a group of ruthless bandits, all for the fate of China. This movie is definite for Tsui Hark fans.

I wasnt a huge fan of the original movie, however with the Coens onboard for the remake I was expecting good things.
All the signs were there and with usual Coen style this western was a move back to times of great storytelling and beautiful vistas.
With great dialogue and stunning performances from all players, this turned out to be very enjoyable.
