"Roger Ross William’s extraordinary, immersive chronicle of the Apollo Theater affirms that cultural expressions can be and are political action. In a film full of amazing performances, the moment of Billie Holiday singing and performing “Strange Fruit” is so alive, so emotionally open, at once ferocious and calm. Her serenity is profoundly unsettling, and we see not just a genius, but a freedom fighter using her voice as a weapon."

Hmm

I feel a little let down by this but for me, this author is hit and miss. Some I love, some I don't. This is definitely of the latter. The style was a little strange for me in the first part, like it was told in short before expanding into a fuller story after the first call out of the FBI.

Oh, well, on to another book I go.

"It’s a film I’ve watched so many times, and every time I watch it I find something new in it. Again, it’s got kind of a strange beauty about it: it’s disturbing and kind of magical, and mythical and mysterious, and just shot amazingly. And there’s kind of a madness in it, which I really like as well. The original version, because that’s the one I know the best."

"I like Foals. They're a strange band I don't quite know what their influences are. The whole concept of influences is a slightly dull concept, it's one of those things that uninspired interviewers always ask. Their influence thing is really fascinating though. Their guitar playing sounds like Femi Cuti or something like that but obviously with an alternative structure to the song. Yeah, I love the Foals, they're great"

"This movie is such a strange little treasure. It is brilliantly bizarre, from the main conceit to the fact that Cameron Diaz (at her very best; I miss her) plays a terribly coiffed chimpanzee enthusiast. Admit it, right now you’re thinking about that scene where John Malkovich enters the portal into his own brain, and all anyone can say is the word “Malkovich.” A masterpiece of unapologetic, creative weirdness."

The protagonist in this book is Rosemary and the book is told from her perspective. I really liked Rosemary, she is a very intuitive, intelligent, caring and adventurous young girl, that can see people’s moods or auras. I really liked the variety of characters chosen for the book, all the characters are very unusual and unique personalities. The adults are messy, strange, depressed, and that gave the book great vibes.

The protagonist in this book is Thursday (yes, it is her name), and the whole story is told from her perspective. I was very mesmerized with Thursday, she is a very strange character, and her personality made me annoyed sometimes, with all her excuses and willingness to please a man she is obsessed with. I loved her, but she drove me mad at the same time, AND I LOVED IT!

I love this game for so many reasons:

The storyline is pretty engaging.
How they talk to each other in the scenes is crazy--hilarious at times.
Kirzu's attitude and fighting skills.
The fun little side stories.
The strange games included from darts and mah-jong to chatting up girls in the cabaret and online video chat.

Strange but entertaining
This movie had plenty of twists and turns to keep the interest. The cinematography was good. The acting was, ok. The story itself was not a typical western, though. Some sexual content and violence(of course) but nothing too graphic. It unfolds at a good pace and the ending was actually unexpected. While it's not fast paced it keeps the interest throughout. Worth a watch.
