"Strange little silent history of witchcraft out of Denmark, fashioned sort of in the Intolerance shape, featuring incredibly chiaroscuroed mise-en-scène, with plenty of pornish coven action. Being evil never looked so sumptuous. I like the alternate version, Witchcraft Through the Ages, narrated by William S. Burroughs—his voice seems to have been created to discuss any matters supernatural. You can’t tell for sure how much he believes in it, yet still he manages to be equal parts hilarious and menacing!"

"What a strange movie. I had been hearing about this film for years and couldn’t ever find a way to see it, but it finally played at the Hollywood Theatre in Portland. Those film stocks don’t exist anymore—this is 16 mm at its best, and it looks gorgeous. Les Blank was shooting with all this natural light, and it makes for such a great portrait of the South at a certain moment in time with a bunch of total weirdos!"

DNF @ 36%.

Four days of reading and not even half way through yet. That shows my lack of enthusiasm for this book. It was taking far too long to get interesting in my opinion. She kept going out and meeting him in the graveyard and having very strange, almost one sided conversations with Peter. I didn't see her fascination with him and found the rest of the storyline rather boring in that bit I did read.

Not for me at all.
