Kenny Luck began collecting quotations by Henry David Thoreau in 2006, as a college student. He became inspired by them, and decided to share Thoreau's inspirational words with the world.

There are quotes for everyone in Thumbing Through Thoreau, each one addressing something specific and important, but able to relate to many aspects of life. Some are clever and witty, others are simple truths that we often need to remind ourselves.

The beautiful illustrations combined with the artistic way the words have been printed and formatted create an enjoyable and inspirational way to consume Thoreau's best words.

I just loved this book. I love all of Debbie Macomber Books. I would have read the other nine books that go in this series. The way I read her books I can get though a few of them in a week.

Harry has a lot to learn about being in a human body for the first time. He has to deal with several different emotions and helping his charge and the other student in his classroom. He need to help Addie does not what to do when she runs into Erich. Harry his the college teacher where Addie has enrolled. He is help Addie and prompt her to help out.

Set a couple of months after the movie ends, Veronica is hired to find a college student who vanished from a party during spring break. With the tourist industry in town losing money, can Veronica find this girl?

The plot was worth of the franchise with some great twists and turns. The characters were also true to themselves, and I loved spending time with them. My only real complaint was that I missed the snark of Veronica's voiceover narration from the TV show and movie.

Danvers' sister has gotten her own reality show, much to Miss Piggy's dismay. Meanwhile, the new student at Danvers' school is a jokester who makes Danvers and his friends the main target. Can Danvers use what he is learning from the Muppets to take this guy on?

There are so many story lines happening, yet everything keeps weaving together perfectly. Meanwhile, the Muppets and the new characters are all enjoyable. I just wish Pepe didn't use "okay" every time he was on the page, okay?

Wonderfully crafted story with warm (and cold) touches.
Radio Silence is a perfect book for any student going into University or A-Levels. Touching on subjects such as identity and sexuality, we see how young Frances deals with her life and the trials that come with it.

After kissing Carys, a friend who disappeared, and befriending her brother, Frances must go on and attempt to complete her first year of A-levels. Within the story, there are doubts, congratulations and cold hard truths that many students dont know of.

As the tagline says, what if everything you set yourself up to be was wrong?

The movie is a lot to unpack. It is a love letter to international film. Madame Simone Signoret's films are screened and discussed throughout. The films serve as a guide to the various relationships within the film. No. 7 Cherry Lane deals with the 1967 student uprising and the aftereffects of the Chinese Civil War as Mrs. Lu is a Taiwanese refugee in Hong Kong. The animation is static, either the cels were shot at 48 fps or cels took up multiple frames to give a slow motion effect to all the action. The film is also comparable to Soul since both deal with life and falling leaves.

Hmm...I'm not sure what to make of this.

I mean, not much really happened. Teacher/student forbidden romance and an overwhelming family issue but other than that...it wasn't even an in-your-face seduction fest but a slow simmer, I-really-want-you-but-can't-have-you type of thing.

That ending hasn't really even inspired me to want to read the next one, not like [b:The Arrangement: The Ferro Family|17181905|The Arrangement The Ferro Family (The Arrangement, #1)|H.M. Ward|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1356483152s/17181905.jpg|23628709] has, anyway, though I would be interested to see how these two end up.

Onitama: Way of the Wind
Onitama: Way of the Wind
2018 | Abstract Strategy
In the expansion review series, we take a look at a game expansion to discuss whether it is a necessary purchase/addition to one’s collection.

This breakdown is for the excellent two-player game Onitama, and the expansion is named Way of the Wind, from Arcane Wonders.

This expansion includes two new Move cards, a new Wind Spirit mini, and eight Wind Spirit cards. The Wind Spirit mini is placed in the middle of the board at setup. Either player can move the Wind Spirit on their turn by playing one of the specific Wind Spirit Move cards. These special Move cards are divided into two segments where the top segment is for normal student/master movement and the bottom is for Wind Spirit movement. Should the Wind Spirit be moved onto an existing student, the Wind Spirit and student switch spots on the board. It can never be moved onto a master’s spot, and the Wind Spirit cannot be captured nor can it capture another piece on the board.
Right away, this small expansion adds more animal Move cards to the base game. That’s a good thing. Variety is the spice of life, no? It also adds another wonderful mini in a translucent blue to be moved around the board. That’s also a good thing. Along with the mini the Wind Spirit also brings its own special Move cards and rules for movement. Good. All in all, the expansion adds more things to the base game and new things for the expansion. I like it.

Is it necessary to own? No. Is it nice to have to spice up your game of Onitama? Absolutely. Being able to thwart your opponent’s plans by placing the Wind Spirit in the way is a nice touch, and it adds more great table presence with the new mini.

Official recommendation: Grab it if you are a fan of Onitama and want to throw something new into the mix, but do not feel obligated to add it. Onitama is good enough on its own without this, but I am certainly glad I have my copy.

A Must-Have App for Any Book Lover
I discovered Libby at the suggestion of another internet user, and while I didn't even have a library card to begin with, I have since fallen in love.

Why I Love it: As a college student, I don't have a lot of spare money. As a college student who loves to read, this can be a problem! Libby solves some of these issues for me. It's basically an easy way to access the digital content from your local libraries. All you need is a library card. If you like audiobooks or ebooks, this is an app for you.

The Downsides: There are a few downsides to Libby. For one, you need a library card - but those are easy enough to come by, right? Second, the selection can be somewhat limited depending on what your library system houses. The best solution to this is to get multiple library cards, but while this is good for college students and out-of-towners, its not a viable option for everyone. Another issue is waiting lists on both ebooks and audibooks, much like you're actually checking out a book at a library. This is kind of annoying, but it's a small price to pay for an app that is otherwise really great.

Midlife crisis drama
I don't think I would have heard or seen this film other than Kristen Bell is in it. She has a midlife crisis and leaves her job in New York to head back to the small town where she grew up. She takes up her old job as a lifeguard and falls into a pattern of her teenage years. Including a fling with college student. It's quite dull and predictable for the most part only broken up with a few raunchy scenes along the way. A bit taboo but it's been done plenty of times before to a better standard. No wonder it went off the radar.
