This is my first time reading a book by Jennifer Pierce and I really enjoyed the way she wove her suspenseful story! I was hooked from the very first chapter by the plight of the main character, I mean imagine being on the run at eight months pregnant! The characters were well done, easy to get to know, and both had good character depth for the length of the story. I thought it was a very well written book with interesting twists and turns that kept my interest easily.

It is the second book in a series, but I read it without reading the first book and wasn’t lost at all, but I am going to go back and read the first book since I liked this one so much.

I give this book 5 out of 5 stars for the great mystery/suspense, for the character's interactions, and for leaving me anticipating the next book!

Y'all this story was epic!

It combined historical fiction, a mystery, suspense + a dash of oh so sweet romance!! I think this is one of my favorite books to read this year :) I think I read the whole book in one sitting.
I loved Lisa. Her character is well developed, she is strong and shows grace, and courage when faced with interesting circumstances. Plus, I loved the vivid descriptions that Regina Rudd Merrick used to describe Lisa and Nick and their plans for the renovation; It was like I was in the house and could envision it right along with them!

The setting in the old house, combined with the mystery left me so excited to (hopefully) read Del's story next! I highly recommend this story for the great characters, interesting twists I did not see coming and for making the smiles along the way. 5 out of 5 stars.

Not a sci-fi fan, but LOVE Resident Alien
I saw commercials for this show all over basic cable and thank goodness the ad outreach was so great. It has quickly become one of the favorite shows in my household and one that my boyfriend and I look forward to watching and one we talk about several days a week, often while laughing about something from the show. It's goofy, warped, hilarious, but has depth and heart, as well. My boyfriend thinks the main character is like Larry David in alien form, saying and doing all the awkward things as Larry David does. I don't know if I believe his line of thinking but I do know that Alan Tudyk is a comic genius and uses everything in his arsenal to get a laugh and to make a scene weird and wonderful. Turn it on and watch the hilarity ensue.

An incredible ensemble cast of the people you’ve heard of and know their name — like Walter Matthau and Jerry Stiller — to the amazing actors who played the characters on the subway train. I think it captures my New York — what I love about New York, what I think New York is — so beautifully. It’s this place of cranky individuals with big personalities who make our city run. And you’d think it wouldn’t work, but actually, it does, and New York comes through. And all the ways the transit cops, and cops, and mayor, and the citizens, and the people in charge of making the trains go — all of these people amazingly work together. And you know, when the lights go off and the old man who keeps saying, “There’s going to be red lights and it’s going to stop the train,” he’s right. Actually the system works. It lumbers along but actually it works."
