Good book, as expected, but not brilliant
As with most of his books, this was a brilliantly paced story. Where it failed, in my opinion was that it went overboard on the technical details, in his other books, the author was able to go far into the technical details, because he usually included a character that needed them explaining anyway, so the reader was told about stuff they didn't know, here, there was no such character.

Pure neuroscience!
This book is a fantastic view into the neuroscience behind zombies. It explains the how's, whys, and reasons that this pop culture monster could exist.

This is not watered down. If neuroscience is not your thing you won't enjoy this book. It uses highly technical jargon that might confuse people not versed in this topic.

With that said I enjoyed this book. It had the right amount of braiiins to keep me satisfied.

I love the action in this book, the fact you are generally gripped and on the edge of your seat hoping everything will be ok with the crew. I also really get attached to some of the characters and feel like I get to know them.
The only partial complaint is that some of the technical aspects like weapon names etc could count some people out and they not get as much as enjoyment if don't understand everything

"[Ulysses] not only was the discovery of a genuine world that I never suspected inside me, but it also provided invaluable technical help to me in freeing language and in handling time and structures in my books."

"Truffaut reportedly said his film was to be judged on its sincerity rather than its technical merit. The film is beautifully made, but Truffaut’s sincerity confirmed my path as a filmmaker. The 400 Blows strongly influenced my films Mini and Quadrophenia."

"No examination of cinematic suspense and visual storytelling would be complete without Hitchcock, and his technical virtuosity in ‘Foreign Correspondent’’s portrayal of the downing of a plane at sea provided inspiration for much of what we attempted in ‘Dunkirk.’"

Technical issues aside, Broforce is a delightfully chaotic love letter to the brightly-colored excesses of 80’s action movie carnage and coin op shooters.

". . . for its originality, objectivity, and political power. I studied it while I was preparing Overlord. I admired a quote of Pontecorvo’s: “Technically U.S. directors keep improving. But this technical expertise hides an emptiness that keeps getting bigger. They’re very good at saying nothing.”"

"What better than Malick’s extraordinary vision of war to demonstrate the technical potential of a carefully mastered Blu-ray? Projecting this disc comes close to the original print quality, and it’s hard to imagine a superior consumer format coming along anytime soon."

"This novel about how the human race responds to the end of life on Earth rekindled my love for sci-fi. Some readers will lose patience with all the technical details about orbits and space flight, but for me, it’s an engrossing and thought-provoking story."
