True crime documentaries are my jam. But, this one fell really short. There were only four episodes, and they didn't really go into much depth on the evidence or techniques for a show called 'Exhibit A'. The cases were interesting, but the amount of time spent on them was frustrating.

Just another Netflix bummer.

Although we may not be 100% clear on the meanings of each song, the compositional techniques emotionally connect the listener and Shakira, from floor stomping, hip shaking hits to moving, heart warming ballads, El Dorado has everything.

I loved this book!
It had so much useful information for beginners - advanced canners. I loved the different techniques, recopies, and trouble shooting ideas. Plus the picture layout is amazing (Every heard a picture is worth 1,000 words? Well, it definitely applies here). This book really helped get my creative brain working now I can't wait to start canning this summer!

"This book is a practical manual, following esoteric Tibetan practices, to attain lucidity in dream and even dreamless sleep. I followed the instructions for a time, and found they worked. My dreams opened up and I started to gain lucidity. If you follow these techniques out to their furthest extreme, you will realize the dreamlike nature of reality and attain enlightenment."

"Minimalist music" has its own largely rigid definition in modern classical music (a genre that Steve Reich, Philip Glass and La Monte Young have contributed to), but Cool Hunting has highlighted how contemporary artists are taking these compositional techniques and applying them in their own music across all genres—be it ambient, pop, folk or electronic.

What do you make of these reductionist albums?

Amid all the new tricks and twists of expensive recording studios brimming with expensive gear and excessive arrangements from eager producers, these reductionist albums speak out to Cool Hunting:

This crochet book is amazing!!! So many cute patterns for kids and adults that are kids at heart. So many amazing patterns!!!
I love how the book is set up. It has various patterns for all skill level for crocheting. Each pattern gives you the level and explains that level of skills you need to complete the project, which I felt was amazing because some books don't have this clearly marked. Each pattern also gives the finished size, the hooks that will be needed, the yarn weight, the number of strands you will need, the gauge hooks you will need, stitch summary, skills, and specific crochet techniques needed to complete the specific project. It even has the specific crochet techniques explained in the back of the book which are clear and easy to follow and other tips and techniques when it comes to some of the sewing parts and other informative information.
Love this DYI crochet book. The layout is amazing, telling you step by step and even how to assemble the project.
If you never crocheted before this might be a little challenging but if you are familiar with crocheting, this is definitely a book I would recommend. I even love the added piece about wall art. And has add-ons you can add to your projects as options to change it up some.

Ninja Assassin (2009)
Ninja Assassin (2009)
2009 | Action, Drama
An all out exercise for the eye-balls! This is a very violent, extremely bloody/gory martial arts film. I think they must use the same techniques used by Asian cinema with almost fountains of blood with every slice and dice of a Ninja sword. Revenge is the plot, of course....way over the top, humanely impossible action scenes, some cool effects and some great fights. It makes Kill Bill look tame in comparison.

an important & sadly unique historical perspective, from that of a woman (4 more)
aesthetically gorgeous, with varying filming styles/ techniques that are blended together wonderfully
creates an incredibly number feeling which allows you to relate somewhat with Jackie (see disadvantage of this below*)
interesting perspective in the way the film almost entirely ignores JFK, allowing Jackie’s character/personality to fully come across
incredibly well acted
*somewhat hard to feel emotions fully as the jumbled timeline often jumps before feelings swell entirely (0 more)

"Well, if I were to pick my five favorites I would probably start with Battleship Potemkin, the great Russian silent film. To me, that is the greatest film ever made. It was probably the originator of a number of cutting techniques — the “Odessa steps” sequence, with the baby carriage rolling own the steps at the same time the troops are marching down the steps, is still one of the most powerful montage sequences I’ve ever seen."
