Typical feel good about yourself whatever your size, takes place in a Texas city and the main plot is about pageant queens. Actually quite good as it is not too slushy and all the songs featured are Dolly Parton songs which you cannot help but sing along too. Unexpected is a scene where the teenagers turn up to a bikers bar and it turns out to be drag queen bar who of course all sing along to Dolly Parton. Enjoyed watching it.

"A group of teenagers, led by Cliff Richard, rally together to stop a theatre being demolished. They succeed by putting on a show there. The Young Ones is a gorgeous fantasy, so optimistic and beautiful, about the potential of pop music for young people. It made me want to join a youth theatre, which I did a few years later, and it introduced the six-year-old me to the thrill of both pop music and theatre. They’re still thrilling me today."

This was a very goodcoming of age novel that pitted two teenagers not only againsttheir own anger, guilt and depression but also a hurricane. These two strangers reluctantly at first team up to help each other and in the process find themselves again.

Connelly did a good job of setting the scene and showing us what was inside the characters minds. As a reader you got to see them evolve and grow. It created fairly complex characters. It was a quick and enjoyable read.

Basic choose your own adventure stories
Quite enjoyed this. It's probably aimed at teenagers but I liked it all the same. I really liked the fantasy story where your kingdom is captured and you gather forces to claim it back. Its quite amusing and light hearted with decent options for your playstyle. Only problem is, you have to buy diamonds to choose certain responses or actions. It can get expensive.
