The story starts with Seth, the main character dying, then waking up naked and alone in the street he lived when he was a child. I don't want to say too much more about the plot as I don't want to give anything away!
The story is full of good ideas and tackles issues which will resonate well with teens. The characters are written well. The book also uses dream sequences to fill us in on the back story. I've certainly not read anything else quite like this - a unique idea, basically addressing what happens when we die (but with a twist!)

Awesome book. Well written with a great plot and characters. The world building is phenomenal! Lorna Reid is also creative making up a new sport called Aquattrox. We follow 4 teenagers who learn that their parents are warriors that can wield magic. Which in turn thrusts these 4 teens into coping with this info plus starting to dabble in magic themselves. I like what the book is hinting at where it may go, and I can't wait to read the next book! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Netgalley.

4.5/5* This book was such a pleasant surprise - randomly picking it up at the library (and reading 30 pages while standing there) I decided to take it home - I finished it within a day I was so addicted. The ragtag group of teens battling bullying and drugs - trying to find themselves through the summer. I think the hometown hero aspect was so fun, each person doing something great and trying to make a difference, learning not all choices are going to be cut and dry, and even the romance was great. Such an awesome book.

Thank you Kris for sending me over this amazing book.
This is for everyone that has teens in their families. This is for every teen, and for every adult. There have been so many things that I found out about this book, that I didn't know before.
Very helpful into forming a nice adult from a child, and very open-minded.
I loved this book, and I believe that every teen should read it, so they can become more confident about themselves, and start to believe in themselves, and make decisions about their body on their own.

The search for a missing daughter unfolds before our eyes on a computer screen, pulling together clues and information from social media and messaging services. While there have been a couple of decent horror movies recently employing this method of storytelling, none of them have been as effective as this. Edge of seat, intense drama with a few twists and turns towards the end. This may have gripped me a lot more than it normally would, as I have a daughter in her early teens, just starting to build an online life of her own, but wow this movie was amazing!

Yoshi (40 KP) rated Before I die in Books

I found this book really hard to read, probably because I was so disgusted by what the main character felt was important to do before she died. Amongst these insipid tasks were things like trying drugs and having sex, which probably weren't the best ideas considering her condition. I know most teens would probably say they wouldn't want to die a virgin, but even if you're dying having sex with a guy you just met is wrong. Usually I try to finish what I started just for the heck of it, but this book was just too painful to finish.
