A dark and slow paced thriller. Quite gritty and harsh at times....but just moves at such a slow pace without a great deal of action or tension. Could've been a lot better!

I'll keep this one pretty short - Slender Man is shit.

It's boring. It's desperately low on tension and any real scares. It has extremely under developed characters. It has a shoddy script. It's bollocks.

Almost DOA

Amazingly I haven't seen the original so can't compare them. I didn't expect much from this and it turned out pretty much by the numbers. It starts ok and nice to see a small role for Kiefer Sutherland. However there is a real lack of tension or scares in the second half of the film. It could have raised the stakes in many ways but stays in the middle ground.

Book Rating

The Wicked King was a phenomenal follow up to The Cruel Prince. The tension between Jude and Carden is even tighter and the stakes are higher. The ending will leave you breathless and wanting more.
