I finally finished it!

That makes it sound bad, but it wasn't, it was actually pretty good--it just took me 11 days to read. I just have to be in a particular mood to read erotica.

3 star for the erotica/sex scenes/dirty talk/play acting
5 star for the romance/trips around Paris/sexual tension

Eventual 4 star rating

It still has the usual hot and heavy Christina Lauren style to it but I didn't enjoy this as much as Beautiful Bastard. Maybe it was the wedding. I wasn't expecting that to happen and it threw me for a loop completely.

So I finished an awesome paranormal two books so far series, [b:Captive|30830592|Captive|Jex Lane|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1467474117s/30830592.jpg|51425133] and [b:Sire|32721063|Sire|Jex Lane|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1477076298s/32721063.jpg|52587454] and hunted for something to read similar and noticed that pretty much all my kindle books were contemporary romances. Then I decided to scour Amazon for new paranormal reads and this was a freebie!!

I am so glad I downloaded it! I loved pretty much everything about it. It had vampires, romance, action, sexual tension... and then a little shocker at the end!

I really need to read the rest of this trilogy!

Taylor Sheridan recommended The Insider (1999) in Movies (curated)

The Insider (1999)
The Insider (1999)

"Micheal Mann’s The Insider was one of the most influential films on me. The way that he can build tension with a movie about a court deposition. Just incredible. To study it from a filmmaker’s standpoint, he does things in there, breaking rules, and usually if you’re going to employ a method of camera operation, you’re going to employ that throughout. But there’s one scene where he brings in a steady cam, and he does shots with that thing that are just incredible, and you don’t even recognize that’s what you’re watching, when it’s usually one of the most telling methods of operating a camera, and one I don’t personally like."

Well, let's just say I know why this wasn't released outside of NY and LA here in the USA. I actually debated buying the digital copy or renting it on Amazon. Thank god I didn't. When I saw that Netflix (US), had added it, I immediately planned on watching it today.
It was not good. There was no tension throughout the film, it was boring. The only thing this film did well was to show the madness.
The only thing that made this worth it was watching Sebastian Stan. Of course, he was a creepy d-bag, but he was nice to look at.
Skip the film, just read the book.

DNF @ 42%

This is my second book by the author and I struggled to get into both. They weren't written with the smoothness I like from my stories and I didn't particularly care about the characters.

The beginning grabbed me--the tension between them in that police interview--but I quickly grew a little bored. I didn't feel like we got to know the characters all that well so when the sex scenes started, I zoned out and just plain skipped the ones that followed. I just didnt want to carry on so decided to give up on it.

Not an author for me.

First, and most importantly for us Brits/Irish: this has nothing to do with the Sid James/Kenneth Williams "Carry On" films of 60s/70s/80s.

Instead, it's Carry-on.

As in luggage.

This is Christmas set - although I'm not sure I'd call it a Christmas movie (discuss) - set in an airport, and follows a young security guard after he is blackmailed into letting a suspicious package through security on Christmas Eve.

This steadily ratchets up the tension, as he struggles to stop said package from boarding a plane and to keep his colleagues (including his fiance) in the dark over just what is going on ...
