This book has everything that I like in a paranormal read; action, romance, investigations... I really, really, really liked it!

"Happy Reading"? It definitely was for me!
I literally read every word of this, which I don't always do as it is generally just filler/too much information for my liking, but I felt like I would miss something if I missed any one word of this. And still managed to finish it within three days
The case took up all the book and I have to admit that I had no idea who was behind it all but I loved how the author had linked everything together.
The romance was slow growing; it wasn't insta-love and I really felt it happening which was great. I love Kyle and Joe as a couple. I'd love to read more of them (nudge, nudge ;-))
I'm definitely looking forward to reading more books by the author if there is more along this line coming. Great book for a debut!

Boo! That ending?! BOOOOOO!!! >_< What kind of thing is that to do to your faithful readers, Ragan? Meanie.
Now onto an actual review:
<b>Obsessed</b> is a turning point in the series. Not only is it set two years after [b:A Dark Mind|17061185|A Dark Mind (Lizzy Gardner #3)|T.R. Ragan|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1367696244s/17061185.jpg|23398072], but the bad guy hadn't been killing until something happens in this book. Plus, he has a name and we sorta know who is is. The first seventy or so pages were rough going for me. I felt such a disconnect to the characters and stories involved. After that though, it suddenly clicked and I flew through the rest of the book.
The plot is interesting, and as always, keeps to a steady and fast pace. I liked how Ragan switched it up in this book, so it wasn't the same ol' serial killer trope. As for the characters, I miss that Jessica isn't in it much, but do think Kitally brings a fresh and quirky vibe. Lizzy feels mostly the same, but I still felt as I did with the last book that she should be in it more. She's moving foward in her life and I want to move with her. While I always appreciate the fact that the relationship between Lizzy and Jared never takes up much of the story, I could have screamed when he suggested that maybe it was time Lizzy hung up the P.I. business. What the heck? Why don't you give up your fancy-smancy F.B.I. job instead? That attitude should have gone out in the 80s and it really seemed out of character for him. Anyway, Hayley keeps self-destructing but I'm glad to have seem some kind of movement or growth (in a way) in this book. Her self-destruction continues, and while the semi-ending seems a bit forboding, I still have hopes she might start to heal in a future book. Now for that ending. Oh, that ending! A cliff-hanger? So cruel. Afer reading the first four in a fairly quick manner, I was going to take a bit of a break, but now, yeah, don't think that's going to happen. Grr.
In a nutshell, this series has been compulsively readable and this entry is no different. <b>Obsessed</b> is just as good as the first, a smidge better than the first, but maybe not a good as the third.

Sacha Baron Cohen is back doing what he does best, offending everyone and anyone without so much as a care in the world. The Dictator is a much funnier venture than Bruno was (while not quite as shocking) and still provides some hilarious moments.Given the recent run of press that dictators like Saddam Hussein, Colonel Gaddafi and Kim Jong Il have had this provides an untapped platform of Cohen’s ability to step up to.
As fictional dictator Hafez Aladeen he rules over The Republic of Wadiya, and Cohen models the character on all of the above in some way. The film is even dedicated to the memory of Kim Jong Il, and let’s not forget his real life appearance at a US awards ceremony where he spilled the ashes of the Korean dictator all over the red carpet and on entertainment anchor Ryan Seacrest.
It’s not that Aladeen is particularly vicious, despite claiming that he has sent men to execution for the slightest thing, say not making weapons of mass destruction with a pointy top, he’s just a bit of an idiot.
After refusing to sell Wadiyan oil internationally and denying that he has or is in the process of making nuclear weapons Aladeen heads to New York to address the UN Council. While there he’s captured and left to fend for himself on the streets of New York, while one of his lookalikes takes his place in order to sign a document democratizing Wadiya and opening the country’s oil fields for business.
In typical Cohen fashion there are some scenes that might still touch the nerves of a few American civilians. One particular involves Aladeen and his former head of the W.M.D. program, Nadal take a joy flight in a helicopter above the New York Skyline.
While surveying the landscape they talk in Wadiyan about Aladeen’s Porsche 911, well you can pretty much see where it’s going to go from there. It’s one of a few great scenes that you’re either going to wince at or laugh out loud. The film also draws in the acting talents of Ben Kingsley (how or why he agreed is beyond me) as Aladeen’s right hand man who is responsible for the plot to bring him down.
Also along for the ride is Anna Faris, no slouch when it comes to the slapstick comedy field, she’s more than at home here as Aladeen’s love interest. Directed by Larry Charles who was also behind the camera for Borat and Bruno it keeps tradition with juvenile humor and un-politically correct jokes. If you don’t laugh you’ll be asking yourself how the hell has he got away with it….again!?
