Twist after twist in this gripping thriller
There have been a few spoilers out there comparing this book to a certain film which unfortunately ruins the ending for some who make the connection. As a result I was aware of the major plot twist from the beginning. That being said, Sebastian Fitzek's thriller is gripping, as we're unable to separate psychosis from reality. A well known psychiatrist has taken some time off to grieve his missing daughter. Out of no where a mysterious woman named Anna Glass turns up on this remote island getaway. But is she trustworthy?
The ending has a twist on top of the climax which leaves you spiralling. An eerie but good mystery.

A clever psychological thriller
How many books do you trust to be actually based on reality and are non fiction books completely factual? These are some of the questions that arise in this descriptive, slick psychological thriller. It follows the journey of a novelist with writer's block who seems to have been befriended by a woman who takes a lot of interest in her. The woman is enigmatic and secretive and who knows how much of her is real. It is written in the perspective of the writer and so it shows in detail how her mind unravels and is manipulated.
It leaves you pondering whether the protagonist actually imagined the entire thing?

Awesome script.
Serious underworld thriller
Ronin is a mysterious and serious crime type thriller which takes the viewers into the arena of the crime underworld. An seemingly ex CIA agent named Sam (De Niro) throws his lot in with a group brought together by an Irish Terrorist played by Natascha McElhone. Their task is to steal a suitcase from a dangerous Russian gang. Unfortunately not all goes to plan. There are two great stand out performances by De Niro and Jean Reno but, I thought McElhone and Sean Bean were very good also. There is great action and an especially fast car scene that has Sean Bean spill his lunch. An excellent film.

A great psychological thriller
From all the hype and bits I heard about the film I wasn't sure it would be one I would like that much. I finally gave it ago and I did really enjoy it. It's nothing like what I expected really. Although about a ballerina in Swan Lake there are many deep layers to the meaning of the film. Quite dark, disturbing at times and raunchy as well, many will be surprised at what they see. A great performance from Natalie Portman as the perfection driven dancer who has problems coping with what is expected of her. A great psychological thriller with some surreal scenes. If you thought you'd skip it, think again!
Interesting & fast paced
This is a fairly interesting and fast paced thriller that really gets you hooked from the very start. The plot has an intriguing premise and is an entertaining whodunit. It's well written and the characters are well developed, my issue is that I can't say many of the characters are hugely likeable. The story itself takes a while to get going, but then the ending comes round far too quickly and is very much an anti climax. It's a little disappointing and some of the intended surprises aren't really as shocking as the author would like us think.
It's a good thriller and worth it just for a quick read.
