Flimsy story, almost comedic
While this story was extremely engaging for its genre and content, it started off with the mystery of a psychological thriller and ended up becoming like a 1970's hammer horror. It couldn't hold itself in the end and the description of the "thing" reminded me of a Sam Raimi style boring gorefest. A bit of a disappointment after 14 hours of listening.

Excellent, edge-of-the-seat thriller. The closest we'll come to 24 since the end of 24 (this includes the new 24).
Kevin Bacon is an excellent, flawed detective investigating the rise of cults. His nemesis is obsessed with Edgar Allan Poe and his followers wear creepy Poe-masks in their attacks, which are some of the creepier scenes in a non-horror TV show.

Very excited to get an advance copy of @The Way of All Flesh from NetGalley, a 19th century dark Edinburgh murder thriller by @Ambrose Parry (secretly @Chris Brookmyre and his wife). Moving straight on to that tonight, even though it is worryingly close to the idea for a book that I've had in my head for 2 years now.

It's the blind leading the blind in Netflix's post-partum apocalypse thriller Bird Box (2018) #Review
What if “The Happening” but actually, you know, pretty good? That seems to be the starting point for “Bird Box”, an apocalyptic horror from producer/ star Sandra Bullock and director Susanne Bier, adapted from Josh Malerman’s novel by screenwriter Eric Heisserer (“Arrival”, “Lights Out”)...

I hadn't picked up on the "baby blues" metaphor, nice spot. Good review, thanks.

This crime thriller was just ok. I wasn't sure what to expect of it (it was listed as horror) but it was pretty much what the description tells you. Decent storyline with some good acting. A little predictable in some parts, but not so much it ruins the story. Pay attention, however, or you may end up confused. Overall this one is worth a watch.

This series was one of THE best I have watched in a very long time. Had me wanting to binge watch in one night. Did not think I would ever go through so many emotions from watching a thriller series. This did it.
I don't scare easily from horror shows/movies...but Haunting of Hill House is an exception. I HIGHLY recommend watching!

The Abyss (1989)

This undersea action thriller is intriging with a slow start as the tension builds into one of the best sci-fi actioners out there, with an Eco message we should all heed.
Camera work is top notch and underwater scenes gripping and although not the most scientifically accurate, the balance ensures exciting viewing.
This movie has depth way beyond that of the sea it is set in.

A great action/crime thriller as a rookie cop joins the LA narcotics unit and has a memorable day in many ways. It's a very good film with some great actors and a decent story. It is quite violent at times, quite weird in places but has a tense great ending I really enjoyed. The same director recently done Brooklyn's Finest also worth checking out!

Adoption lawyer Toby Dillon is helping his best friends, two movie stars, adopt a baby. But just as things should be settling down, they get startling news. This debut is full of twists, turns, and laughs. A thriller with humor. I couldn't put it down.
