This weeks cinema viewing best thriller I've seen this year in my opinion Dave baustista best role yet not normally I would say about former wrestler turned actor but he’s really good in this gives an amazing performance and then there’s Rupert grint won’t give too much away but the movie needed more Rupert grint anyway good story good performances from the small cast and probably m night shyamlian best film in along time

I so enjoyed this slow burn! The Paris Apartment is a psychological thriller, and it kept me turning the pages, desperate to find out what had happened to Jess’ half brother, Ben.
Everything feels threatening: the apartment block, the other inhabitants and even Paris itself. There are riots taking place throughout the city, and Jess can’t seem to find anywhere that feels safe. Hey, even I didn’t feel safe reading it!
But could I put it down? Absolutely not!

Highlights: I love the cover, it gives off that thriller vibe. Great read, couldn’t put it down. Had me hanging onto every word from the beginning even though there were a few slower moments in the book.
Style: Medium read, not too heavy and also not too light of a read.
Point of View: Third-person
Difficulty Reading: As Night Falls was a pretty easy read for me, but I tend to find Thrillers a little easier to read. I wouldn’t say this was a light read but it’s also not a heavy read, lying somewhere in the middle. There were a few parts that had me taking a bit more time trying to read and understand what was going on but these moments were far and few in between all the good parts!
Promise: As Night Falls promises a psychological suspense thriller that will keep you on your toes while you gain a love for the characters, it delivers.
Quality: All-around great read. Defiantly recommend to everyone who likes Thriller reads, even if it’s just a little bit.
Insights: You will either love this book or you will hate it, there’s no in between. For me, this was a love relationship that deserves many other rereads.
Ah-Ha Moment: When Nick reveals that he is the brother of Sandy, I had to stop reading for a moment to ponder the thought and what all was revealed already throughout the book that gave it away.
Favorite quote: “These days, her daughter could make obedience sound like defiance.” – Pretty much sums up the way of children haha.
What will you gain: A love relationship for Sandy and her family, this includes Harlan (as he’s like Hodor from Game of Thrones – innocent and being controlled by Nick). And an ‘I want to kill you, you scum’ relationship with psycho Nick. Plus a great thriller read that deserves so much more love than what it currently is getting!
Aesthetics: Cover was what pulled me in at first. Then the switching from past and present was hard to get into the first couple of chapters, but I feel like it helped shape the book.

I was so excited to read Nine Dragons, because I love a good crime thriller and had read such good reviews for it. It didn’t disappoint. I was drawn into Harry Bosch’s world and mind right away. The plot keeps you guessing and sitting on the edge of your seat. The dialogue is lively and funny, the writing was good, and the reader was excellent in narration, voices of the characters, and speed at which he read. This is not a title to be missed.
Nine Dragons is book 14 in the Harry Bosch series, but it makes an excellent stand-alone. Only occasionally did I feel “left out of the loop” so to speak. Everything that was necessary to understand the book was explained.
Content: A reader should go into a crime thriller expecting some language. There was some language in the book but it wasn’t too overused. As far as gruesome details, it wasn’t hard to read. I wouldn’t let a kid read it, though.

As young college students go missing from different colleges in Oxford, Josie fights with her superiors as to the motives behind the disappearances. Only she sees that there is a deadly pattern to the disappearances and she is the link that they are all missing.
I loved this book and had it devoured in 1 day as I just couldn't put it down. The plot is well developed as are the characters. This is to me a fast paced thriller which kept me hanging and guessing all the way to the end.
The development of the mastermind behind it all was tremendous. There are side plots to this story which are so cleverly done to keep you guessing and gripped.
I would give more than 5 stars if possible and look forward to more from this author!

If you are looking for a thriller with a difference, you will not be disappointed by this. This is a fantastic story with an ending you won't see coming. This debut thriller has red herrings and twists to keep you guessing to the very end. Fabulous fast paced read and the author has a way of drip feeding you little bits at a time and you won't want to stop til you have reached the end.
You have here a thick plot with loads of suspense, well structured characters. The story is done in two timelines that keeps you held in utter suspense. This story is dark, twisted, creepy and very atmospheric; you won't be able to put this one down!
Make this one of your must reads....Highly recommend!!!

Without A Word by Kate McQuaile is an exciting thriller which starts with two girls talking to each other over the Internet, Skyping. Imagine the scene, you’re chatting away, the doorbell rings and your friend says she’ll just answer it quickly and then come straight back. Only she never comes back and that’s the last you hear of her… and then the house goes up in flames and you don’t know if she’s in it or not.
To me that’s a great basis for a murder, mystery, psychological thriller and I read it fast and furiously – enjoying every minute of this mystery. I couldn’t put it down until I’d finished it – all 368 pages of it!
It is indeed a fast-paced, twisty tale, and it totally absorbed a few hours of my time as I joined Orla and her hunt for clues to Lillian’s whereabouts. Did she survive the fire, or was she taken? Surely, she wouldn’t have any reason to go into hiding, and not tell her best friend Orla. Would she?
To me that’s a great basis for a murder, mystery, psychological thriller and I read it fast and furiously – enjoying every minute of this mystery. I couldn’t put it down until I’d finished it – all 368 pages of it!

Gripping unreliable narrator thriller
Housebound Anna Fox loves watching old movies and drinking a lot of wine, that is when she isn’t spying on her neighbours from out of the window. Not long after a new family move in Anna sees someone murdered but no one is willing to believe the drunk and that includes even Anna doubting what she saw.
There are a lot of unreliable narrator books around at the moment in the thriller genre and I think this is a solid addition, it’s a well written fast paced read. The plot doesn't seem to be anything groundbreaking and lacks in any real surprises in the plot but it’s very engagingly narrated. Maybe my love for staying in at home and drinking wine made this book speak to me but I found it engrossing and enjoyable. If your into old films you'll probably get a kick out of all the references to those as well.
Oh and net curtains when you are in a home that is overlooked why isn't that a thing....
