Rescuing a Woman from a Mental Institute
Frank Malloy is hired by Hugh Breedlove who is convinced that his niece, Julia, has been sent to an insane asylum because her husband is abusive and evil. When Frank and his wife Sarah go to visit Julia, she certainly appears sane. But can they prove it to a judge?

It’s always a pleasure to travel back to New York City in 1901 with this series. I thought I knew where this story was going early on, but I turned out to be wrong. Instead, I got a great story that turned into a thriller by the end. It’s always wonderful to spend time with these characters, we even got to see a couple of the recurring characters and some of the regular characters played a different role than normal. The multiple view points are use perfectly to advance the story. I get lost in the time period as I read this story, and that happened here again as well. It’s a little hard to believe I’m caught up on the series, but I’m happy to see the next book in the series will be out in the spring, so I won’t have to wait too long to visit these characters again.

Golf Clubbed to Death
It’s been six months since Stella and Lyndy have found a dead body, and they have enjoyed the break. But that is about to change when they travel to Scotland. The trip has two purposes – Stella gets to meet some distant cousins, and Ludy’s soon to be brother-in-law is playing in the nearby Open Championship. However, when they arrive, they find a weird tension they can’t figure out. Then, there’s an accusation from a maid. Finally, Stella finds a dead body, and Lyndy finds himself the prime suspect. Can they figure out what is happening?

It was great to be back with these characters once again. I really have come to love the regulars, so I missed those who weren’t here. But we saw more growth in those who did come along for the trip. The new characters were great as well. The mystery slowed down a time or two, but never for long, and the final third really grabbed me as I headed toward the logical climax. As always, the time period came to life. Those looking for a series with character they will love need to pick up these books. Those who are already fans will enjoy this entry.

Lots of good choices, I love the Learning curve, good meatier game.
I really enjoyed this game. So much so that we played it again directly after playing it the first time. This game is really about combos and efficiency of your decisions. your get 3 turns and each turn takes 3 or 4 seconds, so really the play time is based around the time to make decisions, which is where the game slows down. there is a lot to consider to play it well, the first game we played we scoried in the 50's, the 2nd game around 100, so we doubled our score in learning after the first game. I hesitate to say too much here because the discovery of the game was a big part of the fun for me and my wife. This is not a cop out from leaving a review. But the more I talk specifically the less you will discover. Just know that there a lot of push and pull on your options. This game feels like nothing else specifically, but has fragmented feelings of Lewis and Clark, T'zolkin, and maybe Castles of Burgundy..... I don't mean it's an amalgomation of those games, more that those games give me the feelings of playing this game. I hope this helps and I hope you give it a try, it's got the best kind of brain burn.

In Safety Not Guaranteed, three reporters go on a wild goose chase to track down a man who put out a want-ad for a time travel partner. I want to keep this is as short as I can because, if you haven't seen it yet, I want you to go in knowing as little as I did. What starts out as a quirky adventure turns into a touching story as truth starts to unfold. Everyone can think of something they would go back in time and change, but Darius (Aubrey Plaza) secretly has a reason that would put ours to shame. Sometimes it's the little things that can make all the difference.

You'll come to love Darius within the first ten minutes of the movie. Plaza plays the role well with quirky quips that crack me up. Definitely an easy character to root for.

My only problem with the film was that it ended way too soon. At only 86 minutes, it's a quick watch that keeps you entertained the whole way through. There is more that I want to expand on outside of the fun, unique premise and the wonderful protagonist, but this is definitely one you should experience for yourself with as little to go on as possible. It finds a way into your heart and sticks with you. For that, not only am I giving it a 100, but it knocks off Spider-Man 2 to crack my All-Time Top Ten List. See it.

SCORNED is the third book in The Emrys Chronicles and this time we travel with Catrin and Meuric through time. Catrin has been pining over Einion and Meuric is determined no one will hurt his sister again. However, when these two find out just when they are, they realise that they need to work together if they are ever to find their way back home.

This continues the story nicely, giving Meuric and Catlin their own space and time to figure things out on their own, without well-meaning but sure-to-be-interfering, families. I thought the history/current aspect of the story was brilliant, giving extra depth to those we have already met in the previous stories.

I will admit to Cat growing on me. She annoyed me in Einion's book and it started off the same way, but she matured and had realisations in this book that helped me warm to her. Meuric was always a star, and my heart broke for the sorrow he has had to live with. I hope both Cat and Meuric have a happy future, but am content with their Happy For Now ending.

This has been a great series that I have loved reading and have no hesitation in recommending either this book or the series as a whole.
