Aquaria
Aquaria
2007 | Action/Adventure
Aquaria is an extremely high-quality product and a fine example of a genre that hasn't gotten a lot attention in recent years—it's no surprise to me that it took top honors at the 2007 IGF awards. Its charm and style engrossed me from the opening level

It's fair to say that we've been spoiled by the cinematic gods this year. La La Land and Moonlight started 2017 with a bang, with The Disaster Artist and Call Me By Your Name bringing the year to a close. And we still have The Last Jedi to come!

But it's Jordan Peele's timely, unsettling satire Get Out that takes Empire's top spot this year.

Based on UK release dates, here are Empire's top ten films of the year:

Felt like an old school 90's action film
Great action scenes
Very good action film
This felt like a throw back to some of the over the top action films of the 90's. Crazy plot, good cast and fast paced action scenes. Almost in the Die Hard mould of one guy against all the odds. Don't take it seriously and enjoy the ride.

Celebrity Brain Crash
Well, the first season of The Grand Tour was interesting. I loved Top Gear, and so when I heard that they were going to launch a new show on Amazon, I was on board. The concept of traveling was cool, but in the end, it was tiresome. I hated the American and Celebrity Brain Crash. The second season is so much better.
