Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated The Only City Left (The Only City Left, #1) in Books

I received this book free in exchange for an honest review.
[The Only City Left] by [Andy Goldman] is a nice mix of fantasy and dystopia. The characters were very creative and the setting was fitting. I liked how Allin's goal was to see the 'top of the world' but that changed as he learned more about his past and the city. I definitely would recommend this book.

OMG... I just can't. This book was epic. I love how much the story gripped me and wouldn't let go. It was a great sequel to the first. You learned more about the characters you already loved and it makes you love them more. I can't wait to read the next one. The world created in this book is amazing. It's definitely in my top 10 series to read.

Anyone who has seen Triangle will know where this is going from the first five minutes. Its a creepy enough movie but you don't feel any empathy for any of the characters and the plot becomes so obvious and contrite that it only just watchable. I saw it on Netflix and would not recommend it unless you can find absolutely nothing else.

this was a good read, again with this author I was hooked by the first page. I loved the storyline and the characters n though sometimes I felt myself shouting at the main female lead. I loved how in the second book, characters from 'nothing ever lasts' were brought into the story. defiantly one of my new top authors

Now this how you do a film about religion, this film manages to carry a message and ask difficult questions whilst being as funny as hell.
It's very smart and intriguing and having Jay and Silent Bob alongside Damon and Affleck who are all on the top of their game making for a fantastic ensemble cast that also includes Alan Rickman on fine form.
Who's house? Run's House!!

Excellent story. Well written, characters are very addictive. Some parts were a little over the top and stereotypical but I liked it. The drama and everything else this book emanates keeps the reader hooked. Steamy but restrained in parts. Overall would definitely recommend this book as I believe it was a reasonably good read. It was a little... Softer than the things I usually read but not bad at all

Tagged as an old school American horror this definitely felt like watching an older horror film along the lines of Friday the 13th. However mixed with some very over the top gore from more recent horror films and you get this. Featuring cameos from Robert Englund, Tony Todd and Kane Hodder. There are plenty of jokes, gore and all the other ingredients that horror fans love about slasher films in this.
