Humour is hit and miss (0 more)
Finally got round to watching this on Netflix. Not one that really stood out as a must watch. It does have a great cast of top stars. It's a strange film though, part disaster film and more political satire. Definitely poking fun at a range of people and topics in recent times, especially in America. Conspiracy theorists, social media, Trump supporters. It's a long film and while funny at times I wouldn't say it was hilarious. Worth checking out for the cast.

All aboard for a great Action Comedy!
I wasn't sold when I first saw the trailer for this and after seeing the critic reviews my hopes were not raised to expect much.
But I'm glad I did catch it as it is very funny. Very few films make the whole cinema audience laugh but this did many times. Yes it's very violent but in an over the top way. Imagine Kill Bill crossed with Snatch and that's the general vibe you get from this. Don't miss this train.

David McK (3663 KP) rated Toy Story 4 (2019) in Movies

Toy Story 4 (2019)
Toy Story 4 (2019)
2019 | Animation, Comedy, Sci-Fi
Latest (at the time of writing) entry in Pixar's Toy Story series of films, although - I have to say - I'm not entirely sure that this was needed, after Toy Story 3 left the trilogy-as-was with pretty much the perfect ending.

Animation - as expected - is top notch, with this film (again, as expected) doing its best to tug on your heartstrings and finally reuniting Woody with Bo Peep (that's no spoiler: she's on all the posters and in the trailers!), after she sat out all of the previous movie.

Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian (2009)
2009 | Adventure, Comedy, Family
Second film in the 'Night at the Museum' franchise, with this one moving the setting to - guess where? - the Smithsonian, and following on the same themes as in the original movie.

This is the one with the Oscar the Grouch and Darth Vader cameo, and that also stars Amy Addams as Amelia Earhart, receiving top billing alongside Ben Stiller.

Personally, I didn't find this as enjoyable as the first - perhaps a case of familiarity breeding (not quite) contempt? - but did none-the less find it amusing enough

Volume 7 in the New 52 run of Batman comics, with The Joker making his return to Gotham City and enacting his latest plan against Batman and his compatriots (is that the right word?).

The clue is in the title how it ends.

the art - as before - is top-notch but I d have to say, I found this one to 'jump around' quite a bit, to not really 'flow' (if that makes sense) smoothly from one part of the plot to another, and to just be an OK read.
