Lee KM Pallatina (951 KP) rated Cinderella (2021) in Movies

Retelling the story of Cinderella (for like the millionth time) and her jump from rags to riches, this take offers up a musical twist with plenty of upbeat numbers and we'll placed hits.
Mixing this with a top class cast was a no brainer..
My biggest problem with this was the usual idiotic immature Prince who becomes more head strong after blah blah blah....
All in all it was a fun family film that was worth the time.
Dean (6927 KP) rated Murder Mystery 2 (2023) in Movies
Apr 1, 2023
Much the same formula as before our detective couple are invited to a wedding on a remote island, perfect setting for a murder or not?
Didn't really make great use of the remote island setting and less of a Murder Mystery this time round with more action. Still very fun scenes nearly all with the main couple on screen. Maybe not as lavish as the first but still a fun film.

David McK (3695 KP) rated Devotion (2022) in Movies
Feb 12, 2023 (Updated Feb 12, 2023)
Unfortunately, I think they watched a different film than me.
This is set during the Korean War, and tells the story of the friendship between Naval aviators Tom Hudner and Jesse Brown; the latter one of the first non-white aviators in the air force at the time.
Personally, I found the film to be quite long and drawn-out, with even the vaunted flight scenes looking just not-quite right!
David McK (3695 KP) rated BattleTech: Break-Away (The Proliferation Cycle #1) in Books
Aug 26, 2025
It also has rather an unusual setting for a Battletech novel - right at the beginning, before the Battletechs are even a thing.
There's none at all in this novella, other than a couple of references to a top secret weapon that is being developed, with a small group of soldiers out on training exercises to see who would get to pilot said weapon.
SO, in short, a read-it-and-forget novella, kind of like eating a sweet between meals.
