This was a beautiful book to read! It flowed so well the story was an interesting twist from your normal perfect female role and perfect harem of men! It was a refreshing read not all about getting their kit off! I’m looking forward to reading more in this series!

This was a beautiful book to read! It flowed so well the story was an interesting twist from your normal perfect female role and perfect harem of men! It was a refreshing read not all about getting their kit off! I’m looking forward to reading more in this series!

Likeable characters.
Young adult film done right.
When I was getting ready to watch this movie for the first time, I was sort of expecting it to be your ordinary, cringy YA film - I was very pleasantly surprised at how well the movie pulled off the topics it was covering.
I don't think I have ever seen a YA feminist movie before so this was very much a new experience for me. I love that the movie realistically included representation such as a character that is disabled. I know that when I was younger my disability made me feel ashamed and seeing this in a movie targeted at teens would have given me a slight confidence boost.
I have to give the movie props for not making the main character "perfect"; she very much has flaws that can be spotted at certain parts of the movie and at one point, she even gets called out by her best friend.
All in all, I have to say I enjoyed the movie and the only negative thing that I have to say about it is that at some points it was not very realistic, but I think that can be excused when looking at the bigger picture, I truly hope the movie inspires young people to take a look at the world and see the changes that need to be made so that we achieve equality and equity for all.

I really liked Albus in this novel, he is different from Harry, and I would absolutely love to read more of his adventures in Hogwarts. I really liked the way characters were interacting, I liked the different friendships made in this story. It was unexpected and refreshing to me. In the series my No1 was Harry, but in this book, I didn’t really like him that much, even though he is a great father, I think he lost his charm. I loved Ron’s personality, his carelessness and fun made the whole story livelier.
I really enjoyed the storyline. I loved the adventure it had to offer as well as all the unexpected turns and twists. I really liked the topics it was discussing as well, such as father-son relationship, not fitting in, friendships etc. It was very easy to read this play, the acts are pretty short, so it was a quick and enjoyable read for me. I liked the ending of this book, I think it rounded up the story pretty nicely. The setting of this book was constantly changing, and I am very curious, how they managed to portray all this on the stage.
So, to conclude, if you enjoyed the Harry Potter series, you might like this book as well. It is different, it introduces new, unfamiliar characters as well as brings back the old and beloved ones, and it has a little bit less magic, but it is still stunning nevertheless.

Very interesting
Have to give a big thanks to @AJaneClark for recommending this book following from Richard Shepherd’s Unnatural Causes. It was a great idea to read this straight after, as the similar themes and topics complement each other but yet still showing completely different sides of the post-mortem.
Everett’s book follows the workings of a mortuary, and focuses a lot more on the criminality involved both at the mortuary itself and of the crime scenes Everett attends. It’s fascinating and I never knew until now what sort of state mortuaries in the UK were in less than a few decades ago. To think black market organ dealing was still happening as late as the 1980s is crazy. What’s also crazy is the similarities between Everett and Shepherd’s personal stories. Whilst Everett doesn’t quite go into as much detail about his private life, it’s concerning to read about how their mental health was affected by working in this sort of profession.
I don’t think I enjoyed this quite as much as Unnatural Causes. I’m not sure why, it may be related to the writing style or the focus on the non-scientific side of post-mortems.
