A lot of the book podcasts I've seen are specialized, focusing on a specific genre or series. Annotated is a ranged bookish podcast, with episodes ranging from the stories behind specific books to the publishing industry in general.

They're currently in their second season, and if it's anything like the first, the run is probably going to be short. (Season 1 was only 6 episodes long.)

But they pack a lot of information and a variety of topics into the episodes that they do have.

Science - Faith - Life - Ask Science Mike!
Love this podcast. Mike McHargue takes any topic from science to faith to basic living anf breaks it down in a completely different way. Through a filter of logic, science and faith he turns faith based topics on their heads and digs into into the problems of traditional faith and organized religion.

Get ready to hear someone tell it like it is.

Adorable and sweet Christmas Story. Touches on the hard topics very nicely. I would definitely like to read the other stories in this book world and a eye to more by this author! I received an ARC from NetGalley for voluntary review.

"Of all of the topics I’ve studied over the past two decades, forgiveness has been the most complex and difficult. Here, Bishop Desmond Tutu and his daughter take us on a journey that has the potential to change lives and the broader culture."

This is a really enjoyable podcast. The variety of topics they choose every week always has something I also enjoy and like to hear about. Sometimes Griffin talks over Rachel, but for the most part they have a good dynamic and the podcast flows well.

"This small publication of Calvino’s Charles Eliot Norton lectures given at Harvard in 1985 is divided into five topics: lightness, quickness, exactitude, visibility and multiplicity. Each essay is insightful and poetic, lyrical, a joy to read and re-read, an enduring primer for me."

Meh
I actually have up half way through the first series, I was really enjoying it at first but it seemed to be dragging on. And while I liked the fact it dealt with difficult topics, I just found the whole thing a bit much to believe.
