Century spice road in another dimension
Ok finally played this one. If century spice road feels like splendor to you. This will be a better version. Now you move around a board “sailing” island to island setting up markets with trading posts. You have to set up combos in order and also claim them before other people. But moving more than one space costs you resources so it has to be worth it. There is very little blocking so it’s mostly just a racing game. Around making conversions and trades. Working toward a goal and beating the other players to it. I liked it.

Even though it's nothing like Catan, the art/hexes/water make me feel like it's Catan

"And then for something light and fluffy I would have to say Trading Places (laughing). Hilarious. Light, and fun, and hilarious, and a lot of laughs. I had to throw one comedy in there. I remember the first time I saw it — I don’t remember exactly where I was; I was young — I think the first time I saw Trading Places I was 15 years old, 16 years old, something like that. Eddie Murphy was just in his comedic prime; I think he came off Saturday Night Live not long before that. It’s absolutely a great premise and really funny, really enjoyable. I just loved it."

Great Theme, love the combos (0 more)
the game is very swingy and doesn't seem like it's strategic, more luck oriented (0 more)
Just OK, I love the theme and the idea of the game
played this game about 6 times for trading it away to someone who would play it more than I would.

This movie still makes me smile, even though it's been kicking around for a long time. (2 more)
It's a harmless, comedy classic, with starring roles from Dan Ackroyd and Eddie Murphy.
Pork bellies!
The contrast of the rich and the poor...who then end up 'Trading Places' in a tale of sculduggery with humour!

The true story of how one man traded a simple, little, red paperclip and kept trading until he ended up with a house, exactly one year later. Read my review of this interesting autobiographical book that chronicles a fascinating idea and adventure, here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2015/10/12/what-a-trader/

"The Hateful Motel 6"
“Bad Times At The El Royale” sees “Cabin In The Woods” writer/ director Drew Goddard indulging his inner Tarantino as he sets up this lurid, pulpy neo-noir tale of deceit, desperation and death in a faded motel, still trading on its glamorous past and novelty location....

Huge Hype leads to dissapointment.
This game just felt old to me, and the game was more about mitigating your opponents attacks versus actually trading. I only played it once, but I'm less than anxious to try it again. That said I love the kosmos 2 player series, and this one is Award winning, very rare and hard to find.

It's better now.
Played when the game came out, stopped about 3 months after. Started playing again this summer. I like how there are objectives now, it gives you a reason to play daily. I wish I wasn't stuck with the team I picked, before trading and raids, but that's the only complaint I have.

"The Little Prince will be on many peoples best loved book lists. I first read this at 14 and the anarchic wisdom of this book with it's delicate philosophy of the outsider influenced my own thinking about the pitfalls of trading childhood wonder for adulthood, but most of all it taught me about accepting other's differences and the fragile nature of relationship. "That which is essential is invisible to the eye"
