Fantastic end to a great trilogy (0 more)
Apes Together Strong
This was one of my most anticipated movies of this year and it was great. It wasn't as good as Dawn, but it still delivered a satisfying conclusion to a fantastic rebooted trilogy.
The performances are great, the CGI is mind-blowingly realistic and Matt Reeves direction is brilliant.
For my money, these 3 movies are the best reboots ever made.

Good middle story in the trilogy. Does a good job of making you question your assumptions from book 1, while building up your knowledge of what is going on.

The goriness might not be to everyone's tastes (0 more)
I would definitely recommend this Novel – the first book in the Warlord Trilogy. It retells the mythical story of King Arthur but in such a gritty and credibly realistic way, that it feels like a historical epic.
This story is told from the perspective of Derfel, a young soldier and loyal follower and friend of Arthur. There are many intriguing and complex characters that are woven into the tale. The battles are quite grisly, and things can be quite brutal at times, but I guess it would have been living and fighting through the dark ages.
As a Lord of the Rings fan, this is my next favourite ‘fantasy’ trilogy. If you liked ‘The Vikings’ or ‘The Last Kingdoms’ series on TV, I would highly recommend that you give this trilogy a read.

Journey to the North
If you have not heard of this trilogy, then stop what you are doing. Right now. And get yourself to Waterstones!!!

This book is the first in a trilogy and a must read for fantasy lovers!

Northern lights tell the story of Lyra, a twelve-year-old girl, who lives in Jordan College with her daemon Pantalaimon, or Pan.

I wish you could give a half start on Goodreads, as I don't feel this book is perfect. My main criticism is on the romance side, there were a number of these in this book, and a felt while it wasn't quite instalove, it was close by. But apart from that this book was definitely the best in the trilogy. I'll be interested to read the sequel trilogy to see if it further improves

"I found this to be a great story that has plenty of hooks for the next book. It doesn't go the way you imagine and that is perfectly fine by me. I love fantasy and being surprised raises it to a whole new level for me."
