Final entry in the late Terry Pratchett's so-called Bromeliad trilogy, with the events of this one running concurrently with those of (most of) the previous entry (that would be 'Diggers') and, this time around, following the exploits of the nomes Masklin, Angalo and Gurder as they travel to Florida in the company of Thing in order to contact their ship so they can get back home (wherever that is).

A fitting end to the trilogy, with some surprisingly deep observations for what is, essentially, a kids book!

I use the term epic very rarely particularly when I'm talking about books but Hero of Ages in fact the entire Mistborn trilogy was epic. Such a fabulously created world of fantasy with amazing characters and fantastic plot lines.

This one just left me wanting it to end. Yes it helps put some things in perspective but, it really is a let down. The reason I gave it a 7 is the CGI and funny acting of Ben Kingsly

A good (mostly) standalone book following loosely from the events in the First Law trilogy. Some familiar faces appear, though some only briefly. A gang of mercenaries are recruited to disrupt relations and generally pee-off those who have wronged Murcatto.

Post-apocalyptic conclusion to the trilogy, where vampires now rule, the nuclear cloud allowing them to move around in the daytime. An interesting take as small groups of humans then start to rebel against their overlords and refuse to be farmed.

I enjoyed MacLean's debut trilogy; it's a shame the cover on this last in the series is so flourescently pink!!

"It’s just quality at its best. Fantastic writing, an amazing caliber of acting; just beautiful, everything about it. The details of the clothes, the sets — just a masterpiece. Again, I can watch any of the trilogy time and time again. "
