This collection of 10 non-fiction stories feature stories of shipwreck and bear attack from the 1800’s, the life of Blues musician Muddy Waters, and growing up with six older brothers in Vietnam. Personally, I want to start exploring creeks like the guy who wrote the last chapter here.

I don’t normally read non-fiction, but I enjoyed all 10 of the stories here. They were entertaining, which is what it takes to keep me reading. Middle school guys will love it, and anyone looking to learn something in an entertaining fashion will enjoy it.

NOTE: I was sent an ARC of this book, but no review was requested or promised. My thoughts are my own.

"To prepare our auditions for Looking, we were advised by casting to watch Andrew Haigh’s 2011 film, in order to get an idea of the tone for the show. Truly one of the most beautiful love stories I’ve seen. It felt like the filmmaker was trying to capture true intimacy and not some bloated, storybook version of it. Tom Cullen and Chris New do truly compelling work. I love this film so much."

"If I ever need a reminder to be courageous and keep an open heart, Ehrenreich's nonfiction book about Palestine is plenty. I can't believe I know the man who wrote this book, that he's walking around among us. Living on the West Bank, Ben chronicled the true stories of everyday people with humility, tenderness and perfect storytelling. Like Patty Yumi Cottrell and Luke Goebel remind me, Ehrenreich proves that art is the ultimate panacea."

I'm quite a big fan of Cynthia Eden, she always writes stories that pull you in and make you want more.

That is true about this too, although I must admit I wasn't as interested in the romance as the case and finding the serial killer. I knew it had to be someone with certain privileges but there were quite a few of those and I guessed wrong in the end.

Very good book.
