MaryAnn (14 KP) rated An Unpresentable Glory in Books
Nov 4, 2019
I trusted you, and some day, you may know just how much you hold in your hands. Linda Jensen leads a relatively quiet life in Westchester County, New York, as the owner of a highly acclaimed garden. Inherited from her parents, the garden is her pride and joy. It is not so joyful finding a strange man sprawled near her delphiniums! The mysterious man is sick, unable to do anything more than drink waterand beg for secrecy. Ignoring all alarm bells, Linda sees to his needs, but her caring act takes on unexpected significance, and unpresentable glory. Seeds of trust, and perhaps love, are planted in Lindas garden haven. But as secrets are revealed and scandal hits the headlines, the act of caring for this man threatens to tarnish both of their reputations. Like weeds in Lindas garden, circumstances threaten to choke out their fledgling relationship, and small moments prove to be the biggest influencerson a national scale.
My Thoughts: What would you do if you found a sick stranger on your doorstep? That's what Linda Jensen came home to one afternoon that changed her life. Her caring changed another persons life. It showed "Jay" what true caring and trust really was.
This was an interesting read that keeps the readers' attention. All the characters were powerful in this novel and helped in supporting the storyline.
This novel is about trust, integrity, loyalty and loving God. It's about trusting God in every situation. The author has a way of writing to keep readers' interest throughout the book.
This is a good story for everyone.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2177 KP) rated Murder in Vein (A Madison Rose Vampire Mystery, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Madison Rose is kidnapped and is about to be killed until she is rescued - by vampires. And they want to use her to try to solve a series of murders that threaten their secret existence. Can she even trust them? I enjoyed the book and really grew to like the characters. Some of the scenes were just too dark for me, however.

A Mother and A Daughter Bond
My mum. Best Mum Ever. In the Whole Entire Universe.
But mums, in general, are amazing. They handle everything without breaking a sweat and still manage to look fabulous.
We all love our mum's. Because they look after us, love us and care for us. And we trust in our mums with our whole heart and we love them unconditionally.
This is what this book is about.

Dean (6925 KP) rated Carriers (2009) in Movies

A film about survival after a viral pandemic outbreak. It was more of a drama than a horror film, so if you're expecting zombies etc, you'll be disappointed. It touches on a few issues of trust when everyone has to look out for themselves, a very bleak film overall. The cast was good and it's well made, you might just be a bit misled by how it's advertised. Starring Emily VanCamp of @Revenge - Season 1

Fabulous book - sucked me in from page one! Left with too many unanswered questions after her husband's murder, Poppy has been self-medicating and trying to regain some memory of what happened to her in those missing days following his funeral. A daily struggle, trying to tell what is real and what isn't, who she can and can't trust, having suddenly lost the man she loves. Highly recommend title; kept me on edge and I was heartbroken (yet hopeful) when the truth finally came out.

I never felt bored. (1 more)
I remained suspicious the entire story. So many characters and how could you trust any of them?
It's not my usual type of written book. There is 300 pages where very little happen. Endless stream of not useless information that holds no value to the current story. Yet, I never felt bored. So many characters made the story easy to build tension and become as anxious at the main character. It's a solid, good book.
I hate books that have the plot move forward by way of the main character remembering more and more about things.
I also hate books that do this while also making you feel like you can't trust their memories at the same time.
I don't enjoy books that are predictable knock-offs. Basically, watch a Jason Bourne movie if you want to know what this book is about.
And what is going on with the weird kids who have strange powers? Not explained, not cool.
