This book keep my interest throughout the whole book. I love how it tell that Evan travels to figure out his trouble and learns along the way. I really love it that it took him back to where his family had kin. It really tell me that Evan started to understand and grow up. Though he lost his first love it really was not real love that he was thinking of.

Claire learn to trust and not judge. She raises her little brother Ian. She makes some decision to marry and move with Evan back to his farm. She has lot to learn as well. There are few things that happens that make me want to have her understand. She does something that threaten her marriage.

Plain cruel
Call me a wimp, but I don't tend to enjoy books where terrible things happen to the protagonist without any proper resolution.

Alice Shipley, a rather meek woman, lives with her cocky husband in Tangiers, when one day a face from the past comes back to haunt her. Lucy Mason, her former roommate turns up at her doorstep with hidden motives.

This book has been described as similar to The Talented Mr Ripley, and in some ways, we can see how they converge. It is a psychological thriller including aspects of whether Alice can trust her mind, and if Lucy is just a bunny boiler - bringing together all the usual plots. I personally didn't relish this, because the conclusion fizzled out.

I grew up on the movie and I always loved it so much so when I finally got around to reading the book my hopes were really high and while the two are pretty much the exact same except certain characters changing and the group not being as big the changes were minimal but I still just loved the movie more. Shocking trust me I know. The movie which is animated is just so full of color and life and wad always just so much fun to watch that it kind of hid the fact that the story is actually incredibly educational. But for me the book just didn't get to that level and did feel a little more along the lines like a history lesson.

Thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for provide ng me with a copy of The Everlasting Rose in exchange for an honest review.

I cannot tell a lie. The Belles was one of my favorite books of 2018 and I was thrilled when I got the chance to review this one.

I loved it. The cat-and-mouse in the beginning was so well done and Camille having no idea who to trust just added the right amount of suspense.

The Belle mythology is intriguing and horrifying and like the first book this one has no small amount of body horror.

The only "complaint" I really have is that I wish we could have met the Iron Ladies sooner. I was so fascinated by them!
