Kasey Davis (30 KP) rated The Jewel (The Lone City, #1) in Books
May 12, 2018
Upon first glance I assumed it was just another take on the post-apocalyptic world. It's not even close to that. It's full of mystery and romance. I was hooked right away. I couldn't wait to see what would happen next. And the plot twist ending was not one I saw coming at all. Books like this is why I continue to read YA.
Love the series
The details in this book are a nod to both native and witch craft and there is no disappointment if you are an avid mystery lover. The cliffs will have you crawling back for more

I really enjoyed this book. It is a slightly different twist on the police officer/military officer and civilian love story. The characters were well developed. There was pleanty to0 keep the plot flowing and it was very readable. Normally I shy away from anything space but this was very well done and not "out there". I am looking forward to reading more from Ms. Luck.

Loved this film and the plot twist at the end, damn. All throughout your aware that there's something fishy going on, it's just hard to figure out what exactly. The acting is great and the concept of the film is great, it's one of those films that's best that you go in blind so I won't go into any more detail. Definitely worth a watch.

A well written emotional ambush. I can best compare this to [John Green's] [Fault In Our Stars] for tissue necessity. [Tuckerman] has written a beutiful coming of age/coming out novel that captures all the struggle and complexities involved. Then she added a twist! The characters were amazing and although someof the terminoligy(I am not familiar with Aussie) was a bit different the messege was timeless.

Dean (6927 KP) rated One Hour Photo (2002) in Movies
Feb 21, 2018 (Updated Feb 21, 2018)
Creepy Thriller
A good thriller with a great performance by Robin Williams showing he can do more than funny voices! He plays the role of a strange, creepy photo developer who makes up for his lack of family and friends by thinking of himself as an uncle to a family whose photos he develops. Quite a strange film with a bit of a twist.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated Twisted Deception in Books

Having twist in the title is appropriate because this book had so many twists and turns it made my head spin. It was exactly what you want in a thriller. The characters were not wimpy but not superheros either. The setting of the cutthroat corporate world added a different dimension as well.It just all fit perfectly. Then add sexual tension. Yes, this book had it all.

Katie Guinn (34 KP) rated The Good Girls (The Perfectionists, #2) in Books

It was really difficult for me to settle on a rating for this book, y'all. The twist was clever, granted, but I kind of figured it out in the first book. And I didn't think the writing dealt with it consistently. But it was a fast read, and I'm sure I'm older than the target audience, so maybe I'm not the best person to be judging.

Oh what a twist! Fabulous book.
I loved the characters and how everything fit together nicely. There was the right balance of humour and drama, the right balance of dialogue versus descriptive prose and all round very well written.
