Josh Palmer (2 KP) rated After The Cure in Books

A new twist and an old genre.
So, I got this book on google play for 25 cents I think it was. One of their sales. I didn't know what to expect from a book that was about the aftermath of the zombie outbreak but in the end I was surprised.
The characters are ones that I generally cared about and that made the book that much better. The story moved along nicely while not seeming to sacrifice content.
The worst part about this book is that to me it seemed caught between young adult and normal fiction. Not that it hurt but some points just didn't feel up to the task of being a grown up story.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated All Fall Down (Supervolcano, #2) in Books

The follow up novel to [Harry Turtledove's] [Supervolcano: Eruption] was worth the read. The continuing story of the characters as they try in their own ways to survive was enjoyable.
[Supervolcano: All Fall Down] picked up right where [Eruption] left off. In the midst of this disaster the way [Turtledove] portrays his characters not as hero's out to save the world but as humans with all their faults makes the story more believable. It even has a serial killer mystery twist within the plot.
I definitely prefer my science fiction based on real science and not super natural. That is what [Turtledove] has produced so far with the two books from the [Supervolcano] series. I like my fantasy with a good does of reality in most cases.

Chris Hooker (419 KP) rated What We Left Behind in Books

The premise behind this book is a sweet high school romance that is tested when they leave for college. The twist come when T meets other genderqueer people and begins to question who she really is. This is all completely normal I was just not impressed with the way the book dealt with it. Too many stereo types. Also I felt that the people around T were pushing for a decision that T was not ready for. Experimenting is part of life but no one should be pushed one way by peers. It is a journey only that person can take. Also, all the labels! We are all just human. I enjoyed this book but it frustrated the heck out of me at the same time.

Not a bad sequel
Same movie revolving aorund the same three moms (Kunis,Khan and Bell) but this time it's Christmas time and there has to be a twist and what better than there moms coming of the big holiday. Needless to say the moms show up early and they need a let loose scene which this time takes place in the mall at the height of Christmas shopping. Each daughter has certain types of problems with their mother in their own way and that is the basis of this movie. The first one was fun and original while this copies that same frame but, adds in enough fun and excitement that makes it at least a one time watch.

Very original thriller
A very good thriller that uses a time loop to good effect. It's not particularly gory or scary, but the deserted ship does make a creepy location for this type of film. Quite a few seem to find it hard to follow, I thought it was a lot easier than say Memento to understand first time round. True it can be a bit open for you to draw your own conclusion by the end of what and why it's happening, but the clues are there. They maybe one or two plot holes by the end, but nothing major that spoils the effect of the film. Overall a good thriller, different to the norm, that most will enjoy figuring out.

Heartbroken. Somebody told me John Green wrote this story based on his daughters life which made my tears burn my face as I read, then watched and took the adventure with the characters. Hazel and Augustus will forever be in my heart.
The plot twist was just too much, I'm in love with a tragedy that I journey on now and again.
Read it more than once. Take your time. This is a journey that'll stick with you for the rest of your life.
I'm sorry but you HAVE to read this. You must cry like me and believe in the love the two characters shared. What a story!

I really enjoyed this book. It the second in series. I really do not really go for these kinds of books. This one had me a after a few chapters. It was got some twist and turns. Alex is back and better. Alex helps his brother Michael out. Micheal deals with all kinds of thing that are going on. He does thing that his brother would have done if were alive.
Is Alex alive and hiding somewhere or is he dead? Though Michael and Donna get some shocking news about Alex. Sindy enter Michael life. Thing are just get more interesting with all the things going on. Does Michael save his marriage? Alex is getting more information can he help Michael?

Groovy
I love this artist's fusion of hip hop/rap styles and India inspired meditative topics. This first album flows beautifully from track to track, inspires meditative breathing, is upbeat without being busy, and is actually pretty darn fun. Tracks like Ganesh is Fresh or Rock On, Hanuman give a fun twist to really old tales whether you are familiar with them or not. I enjoy using this in conjunction with light meditation or stretchy yoga as well as a "wake up" cd first thing in the morning, or to keep me inspired while cleaning house. If you are looking for something a little off the beaten path and enjoy Matisyahu, this may be the new CD you have been looking for.

Good, but not quite as good as the first book, [b:A Spy in the House|6698199|A Spy in the House (The Agency, #1)|Y.S. Lee|http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/I/51IGDM-I3oL._SL75_.jpg|6502621]. The plot and its mystery didn't interest me that much and could be boring. I kept hoping for a big twist, but it never came, so the mystery wasn't very mysterious at all. The secondary characters were okay but nothing special, so I didn't care what happened to who or whodunit. Still, it's a fun series and I like Mary, James, their exchanges with each other, and the idea of the Agency. I look forward to the third (and final?) installment.

Dean (6927 KP) rated Happy Death Day 2U (2019) in Movies

Deja Vu
I really enjoyed the first @Happy Death Day (2017) film which was a refreshing mix of Slasher meets Groundhog Day with a comic twist. This sequel is very similar, looks like it was filmed at the same time? This time round we have more of a SciFi theme to explain the time loop in both films. It's still fun but obviously not quite as original as the first offering. The whodunit element takes more of a back seat in this film.
Overall an enjoyable film but you really do need to see the first one before this. If you liked that then you won't mind the Deja Vu watching this.
