Third entry in L.G. Estrella's so-called 'Unconventional Heroes' series and, if you'd read the previous (recommended to do so prior to this) you'll know pretty much what to expect.

As if the title itself didn't give it away.

In fairness, the title should really be 'Two Necromancers, a Bureaucrat, an Elf, a Dragon, a Vampire and a Pirate fleet' to do so, but that would be a little bit unwieldy ...

Anyway, Timmy the Necromancer's 'Suicide Squad' alike entourage continues to grow in this, most notably with the addition of Spot the (baby) Dragon and with Amanda, the (ancient) vampire of the title, who has strong links to the past of some of those Timmy is working for.

As before, the result magical mayhem is an enjoyable enough read in it's own right, but unlikely to set the world on fire (we have the pyromaniac elf Avraniel for that ...)

A good story for a film, based on the Anime film....from what I saw almost scene for scene the same? Sadly this is ruined by really dodgy CGI for the blood and gore. Some of the creature design is not so good either, and you'd barely known it had a vampire in it. It has a couple of great sword fights but not enough to save the film.

Young adult novel about a teen who moves to a small town in Washington and falls in love with a vampire... I enjoyed it (and this isn't my normal reading fare), but couldn't past the terrible writing, lack of character development, and clunky passages that just made me cringe. If it had been better developed and written, it would have been a total winner, because it still had me spellbound.

Wow, this was a beautiful graphic novel. I fell in love with the illustration. The sepia tones with the red highlights were beautiful.

This is a good companion graphic novel to "Interview with the Vampire". I found myself fascinated with the illustrations and the quotes from the original novel. I'm glad that I bought the hardcover novel because it is going to be a book that I'm going to show off.

Great series
I have been looking for a series that touched that part of me that fell in love with Anita Blake without all the sex scenes and I found that with this series! Jane is a strong female character that kicks butt and asks questions later! This book has her as rogue vampire hunter that takes on a job working for the very species she hunts!

I liked this book as i always love reading vampire stories. I just need to get the next book in the set as I feel i need to know more. I love how they keep changing the way vampires can go out in the sun light and how they are marked and how they react to the change. I will be happy to read more of this set.
