There's is just straight up nothing I don't like about The Lost Boys.

Corey Feldman's decision to put on a deep voice for the whole runtime, Kiefer Sutherland's mullet, the absolutely banging soundtrack (oiled up beefcake saxophone guy and all)
The whole movie is dripping with atmosphere from the opening shot, it's extremely 80s vibe being constantly undercut with a darker edge, and buzzing with the excitement of youth and freedom.
It's always stuck in my mind as a horror that kids could watch, but every time I revisit The Lost Boys, I'm always taken aback by the sudden bursts of violence. It brings it own additions to the vampire horror genre, being that sure, it's gets bloody here and there, but the adolescent story that's woven throughout, and it's frequently funny and warming screenplay gives it a unique touch that is hard to successfully imitate.

The Lost Boys is Joel Schumacher's finest work (followed by Falling Down of course) and is a film that is so of its era, but still manages to feel fresh. Absolutely love it. Now excuse me whilst I go and listen to Cry Little Sister on repeat.

Xoe has a problem. Scratch that, she has many problems. Her best friend Lucy is romantically involved with a psychotic werewolf, her father might be a demon, and the cute new guy in her life is a vampire.

When Xoe’s father shows up in town to help her develop her magic, it’s too little too late. She’s already started unintentionally setting things on fire, and he lost her trust a long time ago.

Everything spirals out of control as Xoe is drawn deeper into the secrets of the paranormal community. Unfortunately, her sharp tongue and quick wit won’t be enough to save Lucy’s life, and Xoe will have to embrace her fiery powers to burn her enemies, before her whole world goes up in flames.

So it turned out not to be too bad at all. A bit more teeny than used to but it was an enjoyable read! Plus a new author for me to enjoy!
I’m interested to find out more about xoe it’s not often you see a female lead that’s a demon!

I think I ask myself the same question after every book! Why do I do this to myself? I’m not one for putting books or authors down but this series has nothing in it! It feels so flat! Book being 11 books in its kinda one that has to be finished! I have come to the sad conclusion that Charlaine Harris just can’t write sex scenes. Sookie is such a whinny drain no wonder everyone wants to kill her! Why does she draw all these men in I for one would never kick Alcide out of bed the silly girl!!
