"That’s a movie I’ve easily seen a million times. It’s my standby movie. Where if I want to watch and movie and don’t really want to think too hard. I know the villain character in there is really, really awful. It’s a weird movie. [But] I think like it the most because it has a really great style. I love the rollerblading kids who think they’re so badass. And they have that really cool computer club, and café, and dance club."

Airtight plotting and brilliant direction by Nicholas Meyer (5 more)
Excellent character moments and growth
Ricardo Montalban as the film franchise's best villain
A climax which can still bring me to tears
James Horner's score
Thematiacally compelling
Umm... It's weird that Khan recognized Checkov I guess? (0 more)
Considered the best for a reason
Dumps the cerebral 2001 tone of the previous film and is instead a smaller, more character focused film. Not only one of the best Trek films but one of the Sci-Fi greats imo

Great tributes to the late Leonard Nimoy and Anton Yelchin (1 more)
The cast and their interactions with each other are good
Like it's predecessors, feels more like a generic Sci-Fi action movie than Trek to me. (3 more)
Idris Elba wasted as another bland villain
Shaky cam
Story just didn't hold my attention
I tried, but I just do not enjoy this
I really wanted to like this, I watched it twice in hopes that I would enjoy it, but it just fell flat for me.

Loved it
I didn't want to go to this movie but with a discount code for the cinema and a lack of other films that seemed interesting I went and I'm so glad I did. At first glance it seemed like a film that wouldn't catch my interest but from the first minute my eyes were glued to the screened and it was very funny, my dad and I laughed pretty much all the way through.

Realistic not Hollywood style thriller
Luke Smitherd has done another great job in bringing to life characters facing inexplicable terror. Chris, the protagonist, is both humorous and human - making misguided choices based on the little experiences that he had. The man in white is a brilliant villain, odious through his fake good humour and his macabre outlook of life. I really wish we could've found out how and why the man in white chose his victims and not just just how he picked his pawns. Would recommend!
