LeftSideCut (3776 KP) rated Hellraiser: Bloodline (1996) in Movies
Mar 22, 2022
Honestly, I can't help but admire just how much batshit-crazy content is crammed into this film. The established lore from the first two movies is more or less out of the window by now, with the narrative concentrating on the guy who originally invented the lament configuration in the 1700s, and then subsequent members of his bloodline trying to stop hell on earth once in 1996, and then again in the distant future aboard a space station. Like I said, batshit.
It also happens to be stupidly entertaining. It never threatens to get boring at any point. Pinhead has been scaled back once again to a more menacing presence as opposed to his pantomime villain from Hellraiser III, and the new cenobites looks suitably evil and gross. Angelique (Valentina Vargas) is a great new villain to stand alongside Doug Bradley, and goes someway to making sure Bloodlines has its own identity. Hats off to Bruce Ramsay as well for effectively playing three separate characters. There's liberal splashings of decent and practically done gore, and the CG effects for the space station still hold up for the most part. There's really not a huge amount to complain about in my opinion, and I can't quite comprehend where the general disdain comes from.
Hellraiser IV is certainly not a perfect movie, and doesn't reach the lofty heights of the first two, but it does enough different to ensure its a memorable entry into the franchise.

Lovely soundtrack
Both new jobs, and updated old ones, are on point
New areas, trials and dungeons are all wonderful to look at, and play in
Zenos is an all-time great FF villain
End game will be slow to diversify yet again (1 more)
Still a bit of fetch quest overload
Final Fantasy XIV: Stormblood is the most polished version of the game to date. It flexes its story telling muscles and delivers a main quest that will be remembered as the gold standard for MMORPGs

As good as the others in the series!

Gru gets fired from AVL and Lucy jacks it in to support her hubby, all because an ex Child TV star gets away from them. When at his lowest Gru discovers he has a twin brother, Dru. Dru is soft and giggly and a disappointment to their villain father; Dru wants to make it up to his memory by talking Gru into a heist, taking the world biggest diamond! Hilarity, family, love and a real unicorn make this movie a great continuation from the other two. Pity Bob isn't in it but Mel leads the other minions to mutiny and jail!

Another Great Movie From The DCEU
Wonder Woman is a great addition to the DCEU, I've loved every movie from the DCEU (Except Suicide Squad ?)
Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice are up there with my favourite superhero movies
Wonder Woman brings a lighter tone and more family friendly viewing to the DCEU,
The story was quite generic, the villain wasn't the best, but overall the movie was a visual treat
Gal Gadot and Chris Pines chemistry on the screen is enough to keep you watching, and the action sequences are superbly filmed
Overall this movie has pushed the DCEU in the right direction
Well worth the watch

Hollywood once again taking strong female hero turing her to love sick fool
I was so excited for this film. However I left feeling disapointed. There was so much promise in this film. Great ine liners that showed a strong girl and one part had her in a bar and fighting for the right reason fighting for the little guy for what right. However instead of a great story and plot and a strong female hero we got left with a love sick tween who motivations for seeing the end of the villain purely on tween love rather than somone who was fighting for the greater good and this left me sad.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2414 KP) rated The Job (Fox and O'Hare, #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When someone starts framing Nick Fox for an international crime spree, FBI agent Kate O’Hare has to jump in to find the true villain. But answers just lead them to a con that is the most dangerous of their partnership.
As always, this book is fast paced and fun with humor to keep things light and danger to keep the pages turning. The characters are getting better, but they could still be stronger. Still, I had so much fun reading this book.
NOTE: I was sent an ARC of this book in exchange for my honest review.

RIVETING READ
For a debut novel ... this is a real page turner!
Pritchard has done an excellent job with the characters; great lead character with lots of layers to him and the "villain" of the story is expertly crafted and not revealed until the final moments!!
Will keep you on your toes with the pace and plot which flows so well and the description of Spain is flawless.
I have never personally been but after reading this I feel like I was there as the writing was so descriptive it just made you feel as if you were watching it happening before you.
I look forward to reading the ones after this and will be following!
