This was a strange one. A lot happens throughout the story but jumps around a lot. Ancient artifacts causing time warps will do that. The acting was pretty decent and the cinematography was well done. There's a few mildly graphic scenes., so probably not for kids. Otherwise this was an interesting watch. It plays to choices made by the characters and the varying outcomes. Patrick Wilson is in this one and, as usual, plays the part of villain quite well. Overall this one keeps the interest to the end(which is a little simplistic compared to the rest of the movie)and wraps it up nicely without the typical Hollywood "leave it open for a sequel" route. Worth a watch!

Could've been better, could've been worse

Vin diesel stars a soldier who is K.I.A only to be brought back by a company who specializes in high tech body replacements/enhancements. The story starts of weak and eventually is knocked into high Gear which doesn't quite last, and unfortunately delivers another obvious villain.
It's what I can only describe as a XXX meets terminator movie (which sounds better on paper) that's being dubbed as a universal soldier knockoff!?
The action scenes were perfectly done, creating a hard hitting thrill ride at times only to quickly slow down. Vin diesel is great in this, regularly appearing in his trade mark tank top but the movie is very anticlimactic which really doesn't help.

The last of Robert Downey Jr's solo outings as the titular Iron Man / Tony Stark, this is also one of the earlier - perhaps even the earliest - entries in the MCUs 'phase 2', i.e. those movies set after 'Avengers Assemble' but before 'age of Ultron' (which ends that phase).
It's also perhaps best remembered for the 'bait and switch' technique it pulled with regards to The Mandarin, the supposed villain of the piece.
Personally, I find it to be one of the weaker entries in the MCU: Tony's issues with PTSD brought about by surviving the wormhole in Avengers Assemble, the Christmassy setting (which marks this as a Shane Black movie), and the kid engineer subplot just didn't really gel all that much with me.

Sure, House of Wax is uninhibited silliness, trashy, and so painfully mid 00s, but I think it's a fair comment to say it's an underrated movie, from an era of horror that I'm not personally too fond of.
It's full of constant nu-metal needle drops, awful dialogue, and very on-the-nose visual moments (looking at you, villain slicing through a conjoined-twin wax sculpture) but to its credit, it has an ambitious premise that's pulled off well, some solid and imaginative gory moments, and a pretty creepy boogeyman, and all this combined makes for a film that deserves more than just "is that the one with Paris Hilton in it?"
Give House of Wax another chance. It's dumb, but fun.

I kinda get why this was subtitled 'A Mad Max saga'.
That was to get the punters in.
I kinda don't.
He isn't in it, in either incarnation (Mel Gibson, or Tom Hardy)
Instead, we have a prequel to the breakout character from Fury Road - that of Imperator Furiosa - but here re-cast to be played by Anya Taylor-Joy instead of by Charlize Theron.
This also takes place over a longer period of time - something like 15 years - than Fury Road does, and so sacrifices the break-neck speed of that previous film for something a bit more sedate.
We also, here, have Chris Hemsworth absolutely chewing up the scenery (and loving every second of it!) as the villain Dementus!

This wonderful movie is about loss, love and growing up.
It follows the lives of Hiccup and his dragon Toothless. When the dragons and Hiccup's clan start to outgrow their island, they start the search for a new place.
A villain, out to destroy dragons, sets a plan and trap to capture Toothless.
In escaping and foiling the villain they discover they are growing up and moving on. Do the two go their separate ways and do they find what they are ultimately looking for?
I loved this colourful film. The CGI is so good I questioned it wasn't just a live film in a real setting!
The characters are loveable, even some that you might like to give a good shake too!
I have to admit, in the last quarter of an hour I lost count of the number of times and ways I cried - with sadness, with relief and from happiness.
I love how it shows you sometimes have to do something that feels difficult if you know it's the right thing to do and makes someone else happy. I loved how it depicted a disabled boy but that didn't stop him from achieving what he set his heart to. I love how it shows that everyone effectually has to grow up, it isn't necessarily easy, but you do come out a stronger and well rounded person for it.
A lovely family film well worth a watch, even if you haven't seen the other films in the series. The story kept my attention throughout and I really rooted for them and I loved the ending!

John Hughes-esque movie disguised as a superhero movie and I dig it

While Tobey maguire will always be my spider man, Tom Holland is the second best (at Least he's better than Andrew Garfield) and Micheal Keaton is an awesome villain. The cast of side characters are hilarious and the jokes are on point. And the two side characters that stand out to me are Ned and Zendaya's character Michelle which later to be revealed that her nickname is MJ (do I smell an upcoming romance that they'll probably explore more in Far From Home?) Also there's no mention of Mary Jane or Gwen Stacy for those who haven't watched this movie and don't care about spoilers are wondering
Also there are tons of references to the spider Man mythology so make sure your following along.
If I had to pick one negative although not a bad thing its just it tries too much to tie in to the MCU although the stuff with reusing elements of the MCU weapons is kinda cool although Luke cage beat them to that plotline and let me make it clear referencing the universe isn't a bad thing because they bring stuff up that'll be important later on in either the upcoming sequels or the next avengers movies but when they do it constantly it just kinda distracts me but if u love the marvel movies like I do then u won't have a problem.

So after a long while I actually watched this and as an avid lover of Despicable Me, I can tell you...it was bland at best. The characters had their usual comical charm and the whole Agnes and finding a real unicorn thing was so cute but they really could have done more with Gru and Dru. Dru could have been given a better overall story arc. And I feel they could have brought more of this infamous villain father into things a lot more. I feel over all three was alot more room for story and comedic content in this one, compared to the first two movies
