Top-tier Marvel superhero movie is essentially diversity wish-fulfilment, revealing the existence of a secret sci-fi African kingdom with technology from Star Wars and soundtrack from The Lion King, but disguises this supremely well with solid script, first class action, and charismatic performances.

New king (and part-time superhero) must come to the throne, cope with parental issues, deal with old enemy and malevolent would-be usurper. Contains some very interesting and subversive ideas about culture and colonialism; doesn't overdo this, of course. Chadwick Boseman radiates nobility and cool as BP, Andy Serkis has too much fun as ridiculously evil villain Klaw, nice support from Martin Freeman as token white sidekick/comic relief (nice to see a bit of diversity in the casting, guys). Marvel continue to do very little wrong.

I waited to write this review until I saw this movie a 2nd time, but my opinion still stays the same. It makes me sad, because I wanted to love this movie.
Overall, this film was ok. I wanted to give it a 7, but I just can't justify it. Don't get me wrong, there's nothing inherently wrong with this film. It just wasn't made for me. It skewed towards an older, family-having demographic that I'm just not part of. My parents loved it, so, case in point.
Once Ghost's motivations were revealed, she wasn't a villain. I feel like this should have been released last year, not now, right after Infinity War.
The only thing I found funny was the running Morrissey joke, and Michael Pena in general.

Alicia Vikander Lights up the Screen
Following up his powerful Norwegian disaster movie THE WAVE with this big budgeted English language debut reboot of the video game to big screen series TOMB RAIDER, director Roar Uthaug delivers a fun, fast-paced new take on the series.

Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander picks up the baton left by our previous Lara Croft, Angelina Jolie and has a blast in what is essentially a female spin on INDIANA JONES and NATIONAL TREASURE.

While the film gets pretty ridiculous as it continues, the eye-catching effects and sharp visual visual style, as well as terrific turns by Dominic West and Walton Goggins as her father and the film's villain respectively keep you invested, even if you'll forget it almost as quickly as you've seen it.

Unexpectedly fun
For a film series that has had its ups and downs, going into Dark Phoenix, I had my doubts but came pit of the film feeling it was better than my expectations.

Story wise it handled the Dark Phoenix Saga better than the last time it was used in X-Men: The Last Stand. However for being the last film in the X-Men Saga, it didn't feel like the end it felt like there was more to come when there won't.

Also the only downside story wise was the villain of the film who wasn't really needed and could have just been Jean Grey.

A good film overall but I'm now looking forward to seeing Professor X alongside Thor and Spider-Man

The second set of New-52 Batman 'Owls' stories (after [b:Batman, Vol. 1: The Court of Owls|13223349|Batman, Vol. 1 The Court of Owls|Scott Snyder|https://d.gr-assets.com/books/1342307351s/13223349.jpg|18412501], this is a more a collection of (Court of) Owl-related, stories rather than a direct continuation of the story in that previous collection. Well, that is, after the first entry or so, that sees the Court's undead assassin's (or Talon's) attacking Wayne Manor ...

As expected, and as a compilation, some of the stories contained herein are better than others: it's also interesting to see a different take on some of the villain and previously side-characters than, perhaps, they had been given before - I'm thinking, in particular, of Alfred Pennyworth, and of Viktor Fries.

A boring action movie

The marine stars wrestling shovel john cena, a man who's wrestling is just as bad as his acting, although some improvement has been made to his acting abilities, this first attempt was the start of some very questionable choices.

John cena plays john triton, a former marine discharged from his services (so the ex marine) who wife is kidnapped in a cliched heist gone wrong.
He the Forrest Gump's his way to her rescue with some pretty great dialogue from the villains.

Apart from a couple of great fight scenes, this movie personally deserves less applause than DOOM (I'll get to that one).

Maybe worth an occasional watch but definitely not in my top 100.

GUYS. GUYS. GUYSSS. Fair warning.

This book. Is dark. Like really dark. It is not disturbing. It is just plain and downright darker than the pits of Hell and it can only get darker by the time the third book comes out.

Strangely, though, I really liked the sequel to The Young Elites – much better than the first one, though now I’m wondering if I would have liked it a lot more if I read the book rather than listening to the audio version. (I’ve always had a fondness for Adelina because helloooo. She is a villain. Villains are up my alley. The librarian spoke the truth.)

A weird synergy of accents, Guns and violence
It's fair to say that this film is exactly what it says on the tin. Guns. Akimbo. The premise is fairly easy to guess.... Especially In the modern world of internet trolls getting their comeuppance. That's about where it stops for me. The bad guy is fairly intimidate In a panto villain way and the two main leads are acceptable. I was unsure about the way they team them up but it's American so, What can you expect? I'd give it a watch on a Friday night if you aren't going up the pub but there are better films out there if you like a violent flick
