This was such an interesting glimpse into the minds and motivations of psychopaths, and also made me realise that there is most certainly no such thing as ‘one size fits all’. I also learnt that we bandy this word ‘psychopath’ around and we don’t always use it correctly. Generally speaking, psychopaths are people who have no remorse or worries about using and abusing people. They have no feelings of guilt over their actions.

This was a fascinating look at seven very different people (six men and one woman), and looked at how they used different kinds of violence and manipulation to get what they wanted.

This also looks at rehabilitation and whether it’s actually possible - which surprised me. I had thought that there was no chance of that at all. I shouldn’t have judged though, because all people are different, and that applies to those diagnosed with psychopathy as well. Some will never be able to rehabilitate, but there are those who want to be able to live their lives out of an institution.

I’ve said this a lot, but this really WAS interesting, insightful and informative, and I very much enjoyed it.
Many thanks to The Pigeonhole and the author, Mark Freestone, for reading along and adding clarifications to us readers, as well as answering our questions!

The Vampire's Blood
Taste The Blood of Dracula- is the fifth Dracula movie made by Hammer. The Fourth with Christopher Lee.

The plot: Three elderly and distinguished gentlemen, searching for some excitement in their boring lives, get in contact with one of Count Dracula's servants.

Taste the Blood of Dracula was originally written without Dracula appearing at all. With Christopher Lee's increasing reluctance to reprise the role, Hammer intended to replace Lee and Dracula in the franchise with the Lord Courtley character played by Ralph Bates, who would rise as a vampire after his death and seek revenge on Hargood, Paxton, and Secker.

Hammer intended to replace Lee and Dracula in the franchise with the Lord Courtley character played by Ralph Bates, who would rise as a vampire after his death and seek revenge on Hargood, Paxton, and Secker. Hammer's American distributor refused to release the film if it lacked an appearance by Dracula; this prompted Hammer to convince Lee to return, with Dracula replacing the resurrected Courtley.

In its original United States release, it was rated GP (General audience, Parental guidance suggested—the forerunner to today's PG), but when it was re-released to DVD it was rated R for sexual content/nudity and brief violence.

Its a hammer film, what else do you expect.

Bobby Dollar AKA Doloriel is a snarky, stubborn, cynical, jazz loving, wiseass of an angel. As an angel of the Third Circle his job is that of an Advocate Angel. He's on your side to argue for your soul to get into heaven. When souls start disappearing Bobby is on the hook and finds himself in the middle of a conspiracy that has Heaven and Hell in a tizzy.
This book is a supernatural noir type, Set in Heaven and San Judas, California-named after the patron saint of the hopeless, the unloved, and other lost causes. Told in a first person narrator pov. (Think similar to Brust. The narrator is talking to 'you personally'). The characters are phenomenal and the descriptions are great. As this is not his normal writing style it shows and can be a bit rough at some places.
This fast paced mystery is a delight with its unique show of how heaven and hell could work it makes you think. Even though it is about angels it isn't overly religious it also isn't anti-God. There is drinking, cussing, and violence. Yep the angels drink, some even to the point of drinking their Earthly bodies to death.
Heaven's most problematic angel is figuring out how he can survive being stuck in the middle of this ancient battle.
