A fast pacey action packed thriller
Contains spoilers, click to show
Not a bad action thriller with a cast most of who i had never heard of (other than William Fichtner). Its very action packed and the story is credible. It has just the right amount of tension to keep you watching. Not blood thirsty by any means though it does have an R certificate for violence (be advised). I definitely enjoyed it and would rate it well worth a watch
Dean (6927 KP) rated Halloween II (2009) in Movies

Bizarre
No wonder this went straight to DVD in the UK. It is a gritty, raw film with some graphic, brutal violence....as you would expect. However the film does just feel a bit of a mess overall and a big disappointment after the great 2007 remake of the original Halloween film was done so well. The visions of his Mum at least offer an idea in to Michael's mind but the film just seemed all over the place at times.
Dork_knight74 (881 KP) rated Game Over, Man! (2018) in Movies
Aug 9, 2018 (Updated Aug 9, 2018)
This Netflix original action comedy stars the comedic trio from "Workaholics". The cinematography was good. The acting and storyline was pretty much what you'd expect from this group. There is some sexual and drug use content and a few gross violence scenes so this one really isn't for kids. If you're into "weird and goofy" comedies you'll enjoy this one. There are quite a few familiar comedic faces, as well. I'd say it's worth a watch if you're REALLY bored.
Erika (17789 KP) rated The Department of Sensitive Crimes (Detective Varg #1) in Books
Jul 21, 2019
This is the first novel in the Detective Varg series by McCall Smith. It's lighthearted (as much as a mystery novel can be), and the polar-opposite of nordic noir. The novel is written as a series of short stories, and it was a very quick read. Half of me thinks that this was written purely as a satire of nordic noir, without grisly deaths and violence against women.

Wow!! What an introduction. The horror the Quinn girls went through is spine chilling. The roller coaster of emotions Slaughter put me through with this book was not expected. This hard shell of mine does not allow tearing up reading a book but Slaughter knows how to pull at your heart strings. The details in this book puts her over the top. This was my first Karin Slaughter book and I am definitely picking up more.
LeftSideCut (3776 KP) rated Gunpowder Milkshake (2021) in Movies
Sep 20, 2021
Gunpowder Milkshake may very well be a film full of recycled ideas, and a script that's a little too smug in it's attempts to be smart, but you know what? It's pretty fun. It has a whole host of badass characters played by badass actresses, doesn't skimp on the violence, and it even got a laugh or two out of me. If you're looking for something to fill the void whilst waiting for John Wick 4, you could do a lot worse.
