Finally got round to seeing this as it's considered a cult film. Apparently it spawned 5 more sequels to date. For an 80's film it was fun if slightly silly story of warriors battling through the ages. Although never really explained why? The Scottish scenery and Queen sound track raise it just above average.

I just finished the Weekend Warriors by Fern Michael's. This was first of the sister hood series. The book was great, my husband listened to it with me. He also enjoyed the book. I went and got the second book "Payback" and the third book "Vendetta" I hope these are as good as the first.

This book will give you a literal view of angels—they’re nothing like what we imagine them, and they’re nothing like what contemporary fiction makes them out to be, either (angels serving God or fallen angels both). They are warriors—glorious, perfect, merciless warriors.

The best thing about this book is that Dr. Jeremiah is very centered with what the Bible says. The Bible is our ultimate source of truth, and if we have a “religious experience” that contradicts the Bible, if we begin to worship Angels more than God, if we get wrapped up in what he calls “Angelmania,” we have a serious problem.

Angels is insightful and clarifying, and it answers many questions both that I’ve had and others I’d never even thought about.

Good (the ants) is pitched against evil (the grasshoppers) in this animated film. Flik goes to the city to find some warriors who will help his ant colony to frighten off the grasshoppers that plague them and steal their food. He manages to recruit a circus troupe mistakenly instead. Really good fun for old and young alike.
