I’m not ashamed to say that I think Bridesmaids is one of the funniest films ever made. The very talented Paul Feig took an incredible ensemble cast and threw them together with such hilarity, it made my ribs hurt. After the trials and tribulations of the movie itself, Bridesmaids culminates in a ridiculously over-the-top wedding orchestrated, to the dismay of Kristen Wiig’s Annie, by arch-nemesis Helen (Rose Byrne). It even features a glorious musical number by Wilson Phillips. What could be better?

Julia has returned to her Maine town to try to save her family's clambake business. However, when the best man at the wedding they are involved in dies, it might shut the business down for good.

I found the first quarter a bit slow, but once the story really got going, it took off and didn't stop until it had reached the end. Along the way, I cam to truly care for these characters. The result was well worth reading.

Presley Parker's party planning business might finally be entering the big leagues when she is asked to host the mayor's surprise wedding on Alcatraz. But things take a turn for the worse when the bride to be storms off only to turn up dead and the police want to talk to Presley. I found the pacing in the middle a bit uneven, but a great beginning and climax coupled with warm characters make me want to read more.

It's two weeks before Evan's wedding, and he's focusing on the family dynamics this is unleashing. Then a young woman goes missing, and Evan gets involved in the hunt. Can he find her and keep peace in his family? It's always nice to visit these characters. The plot did bog down a bit in the middle, but the characters noticed and commented on the lack of progress as well. And about that point, things picked up again and raced to the finish.
