I gave the first 3 books in this series 5 star. But I read them one after another, whereas it's been a good 8 months or so since I read them and I'd forgotten a lot of what went down. I just remember the couples names.

This one, I struggled with from the beginning. I couldn't remember who Boris Jagger was or why Ian and co were so afraid/wary of him, and to be honest--brutally honest--I wasn't all that bothered either. I was reading it for the romance and since I couldn't really remember the previous books, I missed out on a lot of Ian and Hollis' back story. And then I started struggling some more, skipping sex scenes when I wasn't connecting with the characters.\

I did like some parts of this book, though. The Ranger bits in the forest/cabin were cool. The friendship and camaraderie between the friends and partners. I won't be reading the wedding book though.

"My fourth favorite movie — I think every top five list has to have an Audrey Hepburn movie in it. Probably the greatest face of the 20th century, if not Sophia Loren and perhaps Monroe. Maybe Ingrid Bergman. But certainly she changed everything for the waif look, and the modern woman, and the non-buxom bosomy girl; and also always played smart. But this movie — I know I sound like a chorus boy here but, Funny Face is just… the choreography, the split-screen work, Kay Thompson, my God. Just try to stare at Audrey Hepburn dancing in her wedding attire and stepping onto a raft into an idyllic French stream with swans floating around. And perfect choreography and synchronization with the camera. And the swooping crane shots and the music. It’s just a wonderful, wonderful film. And smart and funny — and beatniks in Paris, and fashion, and color, and, yeah, I just really love the film. Ahead of it’s time."

Pilar has already had one wedding to Hakan, but now she needs to proceed with the pomp and ceremony on The Hub. Things are fraught here and not always as they seem, so things don't go exactly smoothly. Unfortunately for Hakan, he underestimates Pilar as have so many before him. In his defence though, he is only trying to protect her because he loves her. Pilar is determined to sort things out - both in The Hub and also with Hakan. In doing so, she has a bigger adventure than she anticipated.

This is a well-written and fast-paced book, with no editing or grammatical errors to distract the eye. We learn more about Pilar and Hakan as well as what they have to face. Mica also makes a guest appearance, which was nice to read. A short, fun read full of action and romance. Definitely recommended.

A Hardy Picard Outing
Well for a Star Trek feature film this was fairly meh. If it had been a two part mid-season episode I could get more behind it.

I enjoyed Tom Hardy’s character, Shinzon, and felt he did more for this film than usual cast who seemed to be going through the motions. The cringe-worthy Riker / Troi wedding got this off to a painful stat. The B4 plot line was predictable and unoriginal - shock Data has a brother - wait where have I heard that before.

It was nice to have Romulans feature in a big screen outing and I thought the Senate intrigue was good as was big space battle (really be a disaster if they messed that up!) Could of been worse (I’m looking at you Insurrection) but for the last TNG outing would of hoped for something with more impact (I’m looking at you First Contact.)
