Awful remake
30 years on and we have a remake of the little known, but very weird film Long Weekend (1978). I saw the original when I was very young and at the end you just think WTF?! This is almost by the numbers remake, so I knew what was gong to happen, which effected my overall opinion. I remember the first being a lot more tense, scary and jumpy. This just didn't have the same impact. Check out the 78 version of you want some real creepy thrills!

You wanna be the VERY best?
Best video game movie I've had the privilege of seeing. Establishes its own story and universe while hinting at being associated with the animated movies. Only issue I had was in a few scenes, it felt like Justice Smith didn't know how to FEEL properly. Sounds weird, but you will see what I mean.

Fan of Pokemon? Go see it. Not a fan? Take your kids to go see it.

PR consultant Sasha Solomon is putting together a campaign for the New Mexico city of Clovis, which means she gets to see her best friend Mae. Mae is acting weird, however, and with good reason. There's a dead body on her dairy farm. And, oh yeah, she's being kidnapped by aliens. After the first 20 pages, I was fully into this book. It's different but funny with great characters and some wonderful turns of phrase.

So, truth: I wasn't happy with how this book ended... and it's the last in the series!!! There are so many open-ended plot holes that were never answered. And there was a weird twist with one of the secondary characters that I wasn't expecting... it left somewhat of an odd taste in my mouth.......

But there is some good news! Day is working on a kinda spin-off series that is supposedly going to answer some of the questions and plot holes left unanswered. So we shall see.

I very much enjoyed this novel. Not only do I love Arthurian tales, I love ones with weird storylines. I really like how this was written by some unknown guy and was only recently rediscovered. (well recent-ish). This translation is great because it has the crazy Middle English along with the modern English translation on facing pages. This makes it easier to use both wordings to analyze. If you enjoy reading romantic/Arthurian stories, pick this one up! I am really glad I had to read this for one of my classes!

A decent Thriller
A very entertaining thriller which is slightly weird and very creepy. Apparently entirely filmed on an iPhone. This does make the visuals look a little less polished but also enhances the overall feel of the film. I wouldn't say it's scary but it does have a slight claustrophobic feel as the main character seems unable to do much about her situation. There are a couple of plot holes you might need to ignore. Overall though a good thriller and something different to the norm.

Dwight is the weird kid in sixth grade until he creates an origami Yoda and starts giving out advice. The funny thing is, the advice seems to be good. Is it magic or just luck? The book is really a collection of short stories with a quick climax near the end. Many of them were heartwarming, but I wanted it to be building toward something long before it did.

The weird sex scenes.
Let's be real here ... American Pie is still the best for raunchy humor. Everything beyond that falls short in comparison. And when they cast people who can't act well, it makes even the good parts bad. If you like typical frat humor, helicopter parenting, and mediocre plot lines .. this might be right up your alley. I gave it five out of ten but that's being gracious. I could have gone my whole life without seeing this film and that would be perfectly fine.

This was a strange one. Not sure what category it should actually be under, and it was weird. Seemed like it couldn't decide either. The cinematography and acting were decent. The story played out well enough(for what it was) but the description really only scratches the surface of this movie. It's only on Netflix so if you're interested in this 'sci-fi, supernatural-horror-thriller' you'll have to go there to see it. Overall I'd say it's worth a watch if you're bored and looking for something to pass the time.

This was a strange one. The acting was decent and the cinematography was good. The effects of the creatures was pretty cool, too. The story was just weird. Couple of guys on an island in 1940 running a lighthouse and fighting off what seem to be "mer-people". It was definitely unique. Plenty of action but not super fast paced or anything. The ending was ok but left a lot of unanswered questions. Overall this one is interesting enough to keep your attention. Not too scary for kids or anything, either. Worth a watch.
