Kingdom is a Korean period drama with zombies.
The king is ill, it is rumoured that it is small pox, however it is also rumoured that he is dead. Crown Prince Lee Chang is trying to find out the truth but is labelled a traitor by the Haewon Cho clan. Trying to find out the truth the Prince travels to a small village only to find that most of it's citizens have been struck down with a mysterious disease. As day turns to night the Prince finds himself besieged by enemies, not all of whom are living.

Kingdom is good, new take on the zombie story. Being set in the past the hero's do not have access to any of the modern ways to kill the un-dead which leaves us with lots of sword fights.
The fight scenes are well choreographed and the political side drives the story.
The characters are well developed including a strong female character in the main cast.
Kingdom is a Korean series but is no subbed, the characters speak with Korean Accents and i believe that most of the actors were not dubbed

A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)
A Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge (1985)
1985 | Horror
There are a whole bunch of reasons to love this sequel to one of the most iconic horrors of all time.
From the get go, it deserves respect for trying something different. It doesn't just rinse and repeat the events of the original, with the whole possession plot being an inspired direction to take.
Mark Patton as lead character Jesse is an absolute riot to watch. He will go from suave ladies man, to high pitched screaming and sweaty scream queen in an instant. The homo-erotic undertones are hilariously brilliant, and make for a breath of fresh air in a genre, from an era, that was usually awash in a sea of boobs.
The supporting characters are all pretty likable as well, giving the audience an entertaining cast to watch when the big bad isn't on screen. Talking of which, Robert Englund's Freddy Krueger is pretty damn intimidating in this one, and is the subject of some all timer shots for the franchise.
The practical effects, especially in Jesse's transformation scene are quite something as well.

All in all, Freddy's Revenge is an over the top and enjoyable sequel and deserves more love than it gets!

An emotional read (0 more)
The ending (0 more)
This was book was such an emotional read. It had ups and downs. Although it was not graphic you still knew exactly what this guy went through. It was described so well but without being too graphic.
I really felt for the character and what he had and was going through.
I have a read a few books like this, in terms of the type of audience but haven't read this type of story before.
I didn't like the ending but after reading the author's comments afterwards I completely understood the decision to do this and it made a lot more sense. It added to the story as well and got the author's point across. I also want to know what that character said right at the end of the book.
I enjoyed how strong the main character got throughout the book.
The only problem with this book is it kept resetting to the first page every time I turned on my Kobo which was very frustrating.
It was better than the blurb's description.
Please note I received a complimentary copy of the book from the author via Voracious Readers Only.

A teen fantasy that brings danger, myths and dragons to life.

I'm always excited to start a new series and I wasn't disappointed with this one.

Brett Salter has created two different but connected characters in Rome and Julien. Their personalities spark off of each other well and it's fun to see how they interact with each other.
The boys both grow in confidence and experience throughout the book, whilst still keeping their individuality and sense of humour.

The Search for Synergy puts a bit of a different light on the myths of dragons and Camelot which makes me happy. It also makes me glad that it's not real, I would be so creeped out!

Not only is this the start of what looks to be a fun and interesting series but it can also be read by a broad audience. As well as being something to read alone, The Search for Synergy, could (and should) be something that is read to a group. I know I said it's a teen fantasy but I also think it would be good for kick-starting the imagination of a slightly younger reader.

UNRAVELED BY DARKNESS is the second book in the Between Ruin and Salvation series and you ABSOLUTELY have to read book one to understand anything that's going on here.

And what is going on? Well, people keep making decisions for Ava, Makaii is still a first-class jerk, Derek is still trying to do the right thing, and Bailey is still enjoying her shopping! Oh, and there's just a small thing about Ava being pregnant and slowly going mad.

This book is so incredibly well-written, it took my breath away. Whether it was from cursing out Makaii to encouraging Ava. The story as a whole is fantastic; this instalment will keep you on the edge of your seat; the cliffhanger will have you throwing your Kindle at the wall.

Honestly can't wait for book 3 so I can clear my day and just sit down and read!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.
