Clash of cultures within one civilisation
A fascinating look into how Russia has essentially used contemporary and western culture to reconstruct the same Soviet system. It's not so much an evolution but adaptation to bolster their former glory.

Peter Pomerantsev is a veteran reporter for Russia, and his tongue and cheek yet informative look into the country is engaging, concerning and at times just plain insane.

The book itself meanders through a variety of topics, mostly based on the writer's experiences of working on various television programmes for state sponsored networks, therefore doesn't strictly stick to the nitty gritty political system.

Amazing movie
Kurt Russell was born to play Wyatt Earp. It is without a doubt his best role. All Earp wants to do is settle down to the simple life but it doesn't work out that way.
Val Kilmer makes a fantastic Doc Holiday. He lost so much weight to play the character but it's one of his best roles.
It also stars one of my favourite actors, Sam Elliott. You cannot have a western movie without him.
It ticks all the boxes.

Clint Eastwood
American Western remake of Yojimbo, and a damn good one.
See this movie, it's worth it, but th reason it's a 9, and not a ten is because the Samurai version by Akira Kurosawa; Yojimbo is just better. If you can see that one first, if not follow it up and prepare to see two master storytellers use the same idea in two different genres, kinda like hearing a Nirvanna song being done by Johnny Cash. or an Alicia Keys version of a Cher song. Fundamentally the same, but so different in presentation. Both are epic masterpieces.

Two hours of my life I'm never getting back
I really like old westerns, so I had high hopes for this movie. Needless to say it was a let down. You would think that with a two hour runtime they would manage to include some entertaining content unfortunately that was not the case. The movie was just boring from start to finish. The beginning fails to get the viewer engaged, and the ending was anticlimactic to the point that it was painful. Save your money and skip this movie. You're better off rewatching a classic western than setting through this trash.

Gary and Tanya smash it out the park again
once once again Gary Chudleigh and his artist of choice Tanya Roberts smash the sci-fi dystopian western genre out of the park.

I love the fact that plagued is a comic I can enjoy with my daughter. We both have very different takes on the story but can agree that we love what we are reading.

Part 1 was very strong but 2 is even stronger leading me to believe we could be in for a hell of a ride in part 3.
