I read this one because I'm a huge fan of Shannon Hale's work and was looking for a quick read. The book's only ninety pages with whimsical pictures that help tell the tale. Very cute and perfect for younger readers.

An instant classic!
I love these ladies and all that they do. They remind me so much of how it felt playing D&D; the classic fantasy, the shinnanigans, all presented in some lovely, whimsical and crisp artwork and strong (mind, body and spirit) leading ladies

When I first used social media, I would only speak in quotes from this.

Alice is the greatest existential hero ever imagined.

"The Odyssey” was first book I read with my Grampie at four-years-old and was my introduction to the mesmerizing tales of Roman and Greek Mythology. Not only is this book a classic, with plenty of recognizable tales, but truly a whimsical experience of triumph, love, and hardship."

Whimsical marmite
This tells a warm whimsical wonderous story of a word which has forgotten its meaning. Imagine if Alice had fallen into a dictionary instead of wonderland and you are about there. This will be marmite to readers, some not appreciating its magic and metaphors and others dreaming into the depths of its poetry and philosophy. It is a beautifully presented story and has been translated brilliantly to maintain meaning in a book about language. Another word, other than whimsical I would use to describe this journey is charming. From the delightful illustrations to the size and shape of the book itself, it is full of a sincere charm that will delight those who enjoy its pages. Those who won't like the book will find out almost from the first paragraph and if you don't, then put it down and pick up something else. Those that do, then allow yourself to go on its journey and think as well as smile in this wonderful and unique treasure of a novel.

A Personal Favorite
One of my favorite books by one of my favorite authors. The story is interesting and the characters are great. It feels like a whimsical fairy tale and it's very well done. I enjoy reading it again every now and then because it is such a wonderful story.

"I’m still working my way through this two-disc set of whimsical documentary shorts by a filmmaker unknown to me until now. Droll, enchanting, and perfectly scaled for home viewing, they open a window on an aquarium that Paul Klee would have felt right at home in—were he, you know, a fish."

This is such a beautifully simple, truthful book. It's as quiet, calm, and simple as much as it is full of deep meaning. It is full of whimsical innocence that comes with being a child, but the messages throughout will resonate with adults even more. It is a truly lovely little book about friendship, love, and life.

"Published in 1955, this delightful book was a gift from my Aunt Lee who worked at Cokesbury Bookstore. She sent us lots of books at Christmas. I loved Eloise’s pug, Weenie and her turtle, Skipperdee—often lost, but always found. I got an Eloise doll that Christmas too. Hilary Knight’s whimsical illustrations bring to life this unforgettable character."
