The late, great Terry Pratchett was one of my favourite authors.
Particularly his Discworld series of books.
From which the trainee witch, Tiffany Aching, was a later addition, first appearing in The Wee Free Men when, towards the end of the series (in the alter years of his life) Pratchett started writing a series of Discworld novels aimed more at the younger reader.
Rhianna Pratchett is Terry's daughter, who I know best for having worked on the Tomb Raider series of rebooted games in the 2010s ('Tomb Raider, 'Rise of the Tomb Raider' and 'Shadow of the Tomb Raider') although I am aware she has worked on others.
With Terry passing away in 2015 and with a steam roller (really) crushing his last remaining hard drive as per his will, I thought the Discworld series was done and dusted.
Until this came out, purporting to be a 'in-universe' guide written by Tiffany Aching (and with annotation by Granny Weatherwax, Rob Anybody, and Nanny Ogg amongst others), and (again, in-universe) from after the events of the final Discworld novel, The Shepherd's Crown.
This, I found, to be a light read, not really a story as such as it has no over-arching plot, but a fun diversion for an afternoon or two (or longer if - like me - life keeps getting the road!)

WHITE ROSES is a fairytale retelling set in a fantasy omegaverse. Briar is the omega, cursed to sleep for 5,000 years. Landon is the alpha who wakes her. Briar finds the world has changed just a little in the time she's been asleep.
I really wanted to enjoy this book. I love omegaverse stories and fantasy, so combining the two sounded perfect. In reality, I can't say as I did. Let me explain...
I found both characters to be rather bland, apart from Landon's alphahole qualities, which were there in abundance. If this is how mates are treated in this world, I'd sooner stay in mine. Prepare yourself for whiplash as the two of them go back and forth between s3x and not talking. I found the writing style to be quite disjointed and chunky, making my reading experience jarring. The best character in here was Elias, an 800-year-old fae, but he's only a supporting character. While the curse, the witch, and the dragons were all easily sorted.
The thought of putting Sleeping Beauty in a fantasy omegaverse is a good one, but for this book to shine, I think a lot more work needs to go into character development.

THE DRAGON'S FAKE MATE is the fourth book in the Bad Dragon's Bride series and features Starla, the bad-ass witch who looks after her girls, and Mars, her emotionless, psychopathic stalker. We've met both of these characters before and it's hard to say which one is scarier!
I loved how both of them had a story to tell, with both of them having a rough go of it and both coming out the other side. Okay, so they're both damaged too, but when they realise that together they make a whole, it was brilliant.
For me, this book is easily the best of the series. I have thoroughly enjoyed the previous books but this one blew them out of the water. The pacing is perfect and the story flows without any wasted words. The way the trust these two find in each other was shown was sheer perfection.
I'm really REALLY hoping Diesel gets his HEA though. He's one dragon who has stolen my heart!
All in all, the jewel in the crown (so far, for me) in this series and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.

I must confess I’d never heard of this fairytale where have I been!! This was beautiful and a sure sign of love and strength. I love K M Shea her books are just so well written. Definitely recommended to those that love retellings of fairytales.

HEXES AND HIJINX is the second and final book in The Lost Witch series. You really need to read Book One as this one follows on from where that left off.
Theo and Fiona go from one thing straight to another. Her father is a piece of work and the thought of framing his daughter for the murders of a whole coven is nothing if it means he can escape.
Theo proves beyond any doubt that he means to stand by Fiona, no matter what! In return, Fiona is Theo's in all ways. Their combined grumpiness, spice and sass came through loud and clear, and I loved how the story flowed.
One thing for me was although Theo and Fiona's relationship moved forward, it almost felt as though it was on the back burner - which kind of makes sense considering what they were up against, but still. Personally, I would have liked a little more time with those two, rather than everyone else, but that's just me.
A great read and a brilliant finale to their story. I'm really hoping we return to this world. Definitely recommended by me.

ALPHA'S MOON is the first book in the Dirigo Pack series and what a start!!!
Sheridan is a hybrid - wolf father and witch mother, accepted by neither 'camp'. After her parents die, she is left alone in the world but survives. She doesn't trust easily, especially if they are in one of the two camps mentioned above. So what is she to do when her friend's brother says they are mates?
I loved this book! Although the instant mate connection was there, Kane and Sheridan worked their way through it, allowing their relationship to grow. I adored how Kane was determined to give Sheridan the space she needed, even going against his parents and the Pack to do so. It's easy to fall back on old habits, but Sheridan and Kane learn from them and move forward.
There's a bit of something for everyone here, with betrayal, mystery, and political machinations. I thought the whole story was bound together brilliantly, and I would LOVE to see more of Isaac.
An amazing start to the series and I can't wait for more. Absolutely recommended by me.
