Trigger warning for this short, powerful book. There's abuse, emotional trauma, mention of suicide and stalking.
Flawless Witness is eye opening for both victims of a narcissist and people who have managed to avoid this kind of relationship. It opens the reader's mind to looking a little deeper when talking to people.
It reminded me of a short relationship I had with a man like that, controlling, always playing the victim and self-centred......just like Jonathan.
Suzanna is great, she's relatable and down to earth. The questions she asks herself and how she works her way through things shows the strength of character she has. Also how important a good support network is.
A thought provoking read that I'd recommend for daytime reading so there's plenty of thinking time. Also, book group worthy, would make for fantastic conversations.

An unspecified dead body appears in the first chapter, and the book then goes on to tell us the sequence of events that lead up to that moment. There are some interesting police interviews tucked in now and again too, that help to clarify (or sometimes obfuscate!) what is actually going on.
This was really good. There was no way that I was going to guess who was murdered and by whom, until the end - I liked that touch. The end was a proper bombshell moment. Great writing from Lisa Jewell!

Filled with so much love, laughter, happiness, tears, travelling, 7 second long hugs and intimate moments, this book has left me speechless until the very last page.
You will travel the world around with Bridget, and listen to her playlist, keep track of her thoughts and be a witness while she tries to take her pieces of her heart sorted out together again.
But she will fall in love with a person she's expected least - a tiny little baby girl!
Definitely a book that I would recommend to all of you that love these type of stories, and all of you that don't - because you'll love this one regardless!
